"Prayer is never more real and accepted than when it rises out of the worst places."

It's not a one time cry. It's continuous. Psalm 130:1 I have cried in the past, and still cry.

And what a wonderful promise, God not only hears; He listens.

It's 2017! How fast time passes by. Before you know it another year would have ended.

As I look back at 2016, its one of those years which flew by so fast, so many things happening, and yet at the same time so many things not happening. It's nice to always be able to be in the place where everything seems to be happening, where everything seems to be going on fine but circumstances, moments in life, they are not yours to choose. We can nevertheless choose how our response will be.

2016 started as a year of expectation. With the end of my season with HSBC, I was ready for a new chapter! Excited to see what God would be doing as I kept my eyes focus on Him. My prayer for the year was to be drawn deeper and closer to God. Well the year unfolded and let's just say what I expect wasn't what took place for the year. I ended the year on a low note, dreams and desires not met, looking at the promises which I have written down, kept in my heart which has not come to pass. It would appear to be a year of brokenness, questions, doubt and pain.

But in the midst of all the lows of life, it has also been a year where I've grown in many ways. I learn to take one day at a time. I learn to see the hurt and despair in other people's life. I draw closer to the God who call me His child. I shift my focus on looking out for the gifts that He can gift but to focus on the giver. To learn how to trust and wait for His timing and providence.

So its 2017, a start of a new year and its starting on a low note. A place of unfulfilled dreams and His promises. While, I can't see what lies ahead and what 2017 will hold but this I know that God is with me every moment of the way and that He will do what He has promised. The promises may not come to pass in 2017 but not a single one of His promises will fail, everything He had spoken will come true (Joshua 21:45)

Meanwhile, till those promises come to pass, I will rest in HIM and not grow weary. I will train and equip myself so that when the Chief Commander calls, I am prepared to receive that assignment and would have the skill sets, the character and the experience required.

2017 will be a an exhilarating year for the Joy of the Lord will be my strength!

Genesis 28:15  What’s more, I am with you, and I will protect you wherever you go. One day I will bring you back to this land.  I will not leave you until I have finished giving you everything I have promised you.”

Jeremiah 29:11 is one of the difficult verses to hold on when you go through trying times. How can God have a plan to proper you and not harm you when the future looks bleak? When everything doesn't go your way. When situations around you just feels helpless, when you are a total failure and there doesn't seem to be a way out of the circumstances you are in.

It takes faith, it takes hope, it takes just trusting that He knows best.

HE chose the cross why wouldn't HE then save you only to throw you into a deeper pit! Lord I trust you because my thoughts are not Your thoughts neither are my ways Your ways.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

This little cartoon pretty much sums what I do most of the time. Too tired to listen that it has become a one way communication of my wants, desires and etc. I can't wait to hit the bed when I have a chance. I mumble my request to God when I am in the train, half way asleep on my bed and then come to the conclusion that God has not answered my prayers. Question is has God answered but I have not listened?

In a turn of events, I was able to attend the 1 week prayer seminar at the end of March. A time where we just come and talk to God. In all our busyness thankful for that week where we had at least 3 hours of just having a focus relationship with little distraction.

Well, I came across this little story and how it reminded me to continue on in whatever I do because there is a purpose for it. Read on for more....

Sometimes, in life, we are required to accomplish certain tasks and we may get tired and wonder why we do the things we do... God has a purpose in our lives and He uses each one of us to take care of certain jobs. 1 Tim. 1:12 says,"And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;"

Brenda was almost halfway to the top of the tremendous granite cliff. She was standing on a ledge where she was taking a breather during this, her first rock climb. As she rested there, the safety rope snapped against her eye and knocked out her contact lens.

'Great', she thought. 'Here I am on a rock ledge, hundreds of feet from the bottom and hundreds of feet to the top of this cliff, and now my sight is blurry.' She looked and looked, hoping that somehow it had landed on the ledge. But it just wasn't there.

She felt the panic rising in her, so she began praying. She prayed for calm, and she prayed that she might find her contact lens. When she got to the top, a friend examined her eye and her clothing for the lens, but it was not to be found. Although she was calm now that she was at the top, she was saddened because she could not clearly see across the range of mountains. She thought of the Bible verse 'The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth.'

She thought, 'Lord, You can see all these mountains. You know every stone and leaf, and You know exactly where my contact lens is. Please help me.'

Later, when they had hiked down the trail to the bottom of the cliff they met another party of climbers just starting up the face of the cliff. One of them shouted out, 'Hey, you guys! Anybody lose a contact lens?'

Well, that would be startling enough, but you know why the climber saw it? An ant was moving slowly across a twig on the face of the rock, carrying it!

7 April, 7.30pm : Just finished watching the Easter musical, we (Kah Seng, Joelle and myself) were going to grab dinner at OUG. Waiting at the traffic light near Pearl Point International, I was busy talking with the other two about curry mee and the next very moment I saw from the back of my shoulder a huge trailer coming followed by a loud scratching sound and it rammed into the other two cars on our right side.

Its the first time I see the two cars literally flying to two ends of the road and I thought the right side of the car that we were in will be totally damaged but after managing to move the car to the side only the front part of the car was damaged.

However, it is really a miracle that nobody died in the accident. The condition of both the cars that flew was horrible. The car that flew to the left was like a smash tin can but yet they came out safe and sound. Only the other car driver suffered several stitches but other than that everyone is well and safe.

While the accident cause us a long process and massive traffic jam at Old Klang Road, I must say I am really grateful and thankful to God that we came out without a scratch (apart from being a little fearful).

In that whole situation am thankful to my family who quickly came to my aid from Semenyih (yes my Dad came to the police station too) , to the FGA church mates that was there on the scene and to Pastor Grace and Arnand that came and prayed for us. Most of all to Joelle and Kah Seng that kept their straight face and be ever so positive about the whole thing.

Please do drive safely and carefully, I have seen at least one accident nearly everyday. We need to all play a part and drive carefully behind the wheels. Its the real world and not some video game where people don't die.

I'm living by His grace each day. This post is dedicated to the one who made me. The one I call my Father, my Lord, my Friend and the one who holds me in His hand.

Looking at the past few months, I can only say that the Lord has been good to me.

Church
Well, one of the hardest questions I get from people is how is church? Now it is a love and hate relationship with the things that is going on in church. It is strange how you can feel so much for something yet you can also be frustrated and the only thought is to move on. Nevertheless, I am thankful that despite it all, I see how the little ones are coming to know HIM more and more. How they are asking questions that really matters and questions that counts. I am encouraged each time I see their child like faith. I have learnt to just take each moment as it comes.

Work
Despite not being a "somebody" the Lord has open doors of opportunity for me to grow and learn in the place where everyone is of Senior Level. I am thankful for my colleagues that has not only be kind enough to be coaching me with my work and assigning me with task that is not really for my level. Thankful that they even allowed me to go to Hong Kong for an attachment as well as the Regional conference when people with my position (level) will never be able to go, what more with only a year plus working experience and slightly more than a year being with the bank. Truly! Only God could have made it all possible!

One lesson that stood out for me during this time is faith + believe. If you were a trapeze artist and were skilled at walking across tightropes over high places, you might even be willing to walk across Niagara Falls. In fact, I would have confidence that you could because I had seen your abilities as a trapeze artist. However, if you asked me if you could push me in a wheelbarrow across Niagara Falls, you would be challenging me to put my beliefs into action. This requires faith, participation, and risk, which, until now, was based only on mental assent.

I guess that is something I am learning to really trust God and jump in the basket even when the circumstances ahead just seems to screams the opposite.

"Thank You! Lord"

Thank you for being the GOD of second chances, third chances, fourth chances.... x chances
Thank you for loving the unlovable
Thank you for investing in a worthless, nobody, a tiny particle in the vast beach and turning giving me a new found hope!

2011

A year that saw Muammar Gadaffi die, Terrible Tsunami in Japan, saw many Westerners lost their jobs, the Apple King dead, North Korea's Country Head died, Famine, Flooding and Bersih 2011. It is also the year where the war between US and Iraq ended, Palestine admitted into UNESCO, Harimau Malaya won Gold Medal in Sea Games, and my sister Graduated from her MBA.

Looking back I just realised how much I complain about work. Still do....However, my outlook of work has since quite change realising that the main reason of my existence is to glorify HIM. If you would ask me how I would summarise the year 2011 well the one word I would use to describe 2011 is humbling.

A year that I am brought back to ground zero. After all the achievements, positions, titles and knowing the ins and outs of whatever I do, I am brought back to a place where I know nothing, no experience, the youngest as well as 'no voice'. Learning to rely on HIM more than my own knowledge and experience.

It has been the year of 'First' of many things as well.

My First - Permanent Job (Stated in Dec 2010)
My First - Mandarin Class
My First - Easter Sunrise Service
My First - Trip to Kota Kinabalu (covered from KK to Kota Belud), Sabah
My First - Time being part of the World Vision Famine Campaign
My First - Carol-ling at a Christian Bookshop in KL.
My First - Trip to China

It was really heart warming to see young children grow as well. Am really glad and proud of the young ones in class that managed to memorise the whole psalm 23 in less than 40 minutes. (Some as young as 9 years old) Saw them grow in size too (esp the little ones).

A year where ICC took new steps as well. We commissioned our first Pastor and also moved into our new premise.

It's quite funny as the tough times are also usually the most unforgettable times. I am thankful to God for the ups and downs through out the year. He has indeed been faithful even when I am faithless. 2 Thess 3:3 ' But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.'

Looking forward to the adventures in 2012.....

Up next - Exam Results in Mid Jan, CNY, AML Certification Feb, Hong Kong Work & Leisure Trip Feb and loads more to come :)

Thanks to my sister a video that sums it all up. Its been months now. I have been asking myself this core question am I / are we praising the Lord or just going with the motion because its now a familiar place / ground. Ever since I was born say some or even better in my mother's womb I hear the same music.

One thing I have learned is that familiarity can really be scarry, creepy and bad. It shapes a culture and because its too ingrained in us, we are unaware of the things we do that we do it because that's part of the system. No questions asks! We stop thinking! Robots if I may say. Obligations perhaps?

I am moving off tangent for a while. The place I work in (or anyplace for that matter has a culture) whether you are aware of it or not there is one. The old folks in that place probably wouldn't find anything wrong with it but the fresh ones or those from the outside can instantly recognise the culture of the place. Soon long enough the culture becomes part of you.

When I first started work I found it so hard to fit into the work culture. (read my earlier posts on work). However, for me since it was my first experience at work I couldn't tell the difference between the different work experience and kept telling myself that this is how the work culture is. Step up to it. Many new fishes have swam into office and fish out of water will of course jump and I saw the difference through their eyes.

Back to the topic. So it is with church. When I first came to the Lord I knew the difference between having a relationship with the Lord and not having one. The contrast was evident. I only started going to church regularly when I was in Standard 6 and going to church then and going to church now well its different once again. (You will notice the difference when you move from one church to another as well because its different). Its not a motion because you do not know what the motion is. You don't know the ropes around so your eyes are open. Your ears up and your senses scans the environment and everything around.

Now 10 years and I know the truth that being too comfortable is a red flag we need to be aware. I know how many times I stand in the pews at church just waiting for the service to be over and thinking of what is there on the menu. Jesus, the one who quenches my hunger I declare. Then service comes and take its place. I get so busy with church service and well no one can question right? I am serving the LORD MOST HIGH. What can be more noble than that? Mary sitting at Jesus feet. (Luke 10:38-42).

I chase after the gifts in the hands of the giver and not the giver. I thought that perhaps seeing the miracles, the manifestation of His glory, having the warm revelation that He is king is the answer. Or perhaps if I am bless with academic success, wonderful career I am more blessed than others. Matthew 6:19-21 Do not store up treasures on earth... for where your treasure is there also will your heart be. Nothing wrong with all these but slowly and surely we will shift our focus on boxing the God of all into ideas we think He is working and should be doing. In other words we push Him of the throne and say I am boss.

We flock the churches on Sunday mornings, cell groups, meetings. All good stuff but then again has it become an excuse. Too busy. I am just too busy. Too busy for anything else. Too busy to visit a colleague who just gave birth. Too busy to comfort a friend in grief. Too busy.

Face it although we always cry for change many a times we actually dislike change. We are resistant to change. Especially if it came from someone else. Doing the same wrong thing over and over again does not make it a right.

The songs of the video cannot hit the chord as spot on as it did. I (Myself first. Stand guilty) / We REALLY NEED to take a step back re-think our actions and our words.

God can only be glorified and lifted up and I am made to worship HIM. My prayer is that I will dig deep and do a self check. See high to see pass HIS Hands to see the face of HIM and not just stop at HIS hands. Through all times (good and bad) to say He is my Lord and to live like I really mean it and only God can judge.

Well, hope you are encouraged (looking for partners to journey along this race and hear the masters voice at the end of it all) and I would like to end with this song because we need it to have our senses always on alert and ready to be used by the porter.

Whether you are a caterpillar or a little bird or a human, change is inevitable. The responsibilities, the circumstances each day are bound to be different. Yet many a times the idea of change just sends a feeling of dislike.

Its just like Inertia. It resists any change in its motion. Sometimes we are just the same. I know that I take comfort in knowing the familiar. Moving out of the things you commonly do is sometimes one of the hardest thing to do. Strangely enough, right from young we are always doing things that are different yet change is still something that throws us off course.

I really wonder why this should be the case. I have been trying to adapt to change. To go through as much change so that probably one day I will be immune to change and be able to adapt to change in just a split of a second. (Wonder if that is possible)

Well, imagine hanging out with a group of people that's minimum 10 years your senior. Joining them for CF, working with them and even going for mini trips. Yes, there are times I ask myself what for? But yet if I don't adapt to change I never will. I would probably be sulking the whole time through and letting those precious years pass without saying that I did something meaningful during those years because I refuse to step out and do something about it.

At least at the end of the day if I fail, I know that I have given it my best shot. Knowing that I have given my best, and tried putting together is better than not trying at all.

New Living Translation (©2007)
Don't let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity. 1 Timothy 4:12

Well, although I am the youngest right now in almost everything I do but this will not stop me for being who I am. I guess it challenges me even more and probably that is what keeps me going.

Went out with my colleagues yesterday for a mini trip to Broga. Although it was quite a different experience then when I go out with people my age, I have to say that it was indeed quite an experience.

New International Version (©1984)
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

What is most important is knowing that God is in control above all. Knowing that my failures is just a small matter to Him and that He is there all the way.

Can't believe it. Time passes by so fast. Before I know it I will be celebrating my 50th Birthday. For now, I am quite glad I'm just turning 23! Its really weird how when I reflect back I always end up mixing with older people in my life. When I was younger I use to mix around with my sis friends then when I went to college the group I first got attached to were the older ones. Strangely enough I am now force to mix with all the older folks from my workplace as there are no younger ones in sight.

my parents for all that they are and the love they have showered upon me. They have always made us their priority. thankful for my siblings for the siblinghood that many others do not share. (coming from a big family does have some advantages as well). I would also want to thank everyone that has been a part of my life. God has been putting precious ones in my life to remind me of His love and the colours of life.

Well, who says growing old has to be a pain?

I wanted to find an image that shows focus and hey presto I found the above. Well, the message of focus has been coming over and over again. I just can't seem to be focus. Running all over not knowing what the goal looks like. Finally figure out the problem is because I couldn't envision how it looks like. No accurate measures just a general statement of the goals I want to achieve makes the path hard to walk.

The past one week plus has been rather refreshing. Hugely because I haven't been staying pass 9pm in office. I have been out on training and seminar. Able to have more time with my family and a little more time for myself. Although the train has been pretty packed I am able to enter the train without waiting for more than half an hour for the next train. Really helps to break the stress.

Lately the most disturbing news is seeing the number of suicide cases in the country has risen. With more and more cases reported everyday when I open the newspaper while I am walking to my office. It really is unsettling to see how people take the value of life so lightly. If God took the time to ensure every detail is there when HE formed us how could we make such decisions just by our rash impulses? For me it was when I actually read about how the human body is formed that I know that its a complicated thing and that effort has been taken into each and every living cell. As the pressure and stress around builds up it is important to continue being Focus on the creator.

Its going to be my personal struggle to stay on course and to have the singleness of mind. Do hope that it will be built into my system.

After nearly two months of work I have to say that I am at the cliff of the mountain. The pressure at work is probably too much for me to handle. Coupled with the long hours of work, horrible train services and the lack of sleep, is driving me up the wall.

I have to admit that so far the experience gain is certainly beyond what I have ever imagine. In less than two months, I have sat in the Board of Directors meeting and the Exco meeting. I have drawn up proposals and come up with policies. Indeed a well of knowledge flooding in.

How can you be so sure of something and yet feel so trapped? I always thought that walking the road knowing that He has chosen would mean everything will be laid out. Then it dawn upon me how the road less taken is always the hardest. That obedience is not easy and taking up the cross daily is one uphill task. At times like this I am reminded of the warriors who knowing full well of the task ahead and the difficulties that comes with it still said yes to the Lord and stayed strong throughout.

Such a struggle. The comfort I have in the place I am is that I know that He is there because I have taken that step of obedience. Has it been a difficult choice? It would be a lie if I said no. Even before taking up the job I had such a struggle and I am still struggling.

I don't have all the answers and I don't have all the solutions. Anyhow, I am glad for the people He placed to support me through time like this especially my mum. She is really my pillar of strength.

Don't mean to be all emotional about the struggles. Something I am really trying.

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
2 Corinthians 4:7-9

We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies.

Something I read in Aaron Boyd + Craig Borlase book which I felt like sharing.

"In life, we are often impatient. We spend so much of our time wanting to be able to see the full picture, to find reason or logic behind life's challenges and hardships, to understand the answer to our deepest questions. We want answers to the eternal questions of why. Why me? Why this? Why now?

Perhaps in the rush to get past the struggles, pain and suffering, we miss out on what is to be gained from being in the middle of it.

Perhaps by glossing over the weakness, the sadness and the brokenness, we miss out on the strength, the love, the joy.

Perhaps in our desire to have life mapped out, we end up getting ourselves horribly lost.

Perhaps in our climb to figure out the formula for life, we realize there is none.
Perhaps it would be better if we just allowed ourselves to be with God and trust Him in the middle of the darkest times.

- Its a lie if things look okay on the outside, they look the same within. They missed the mark that spirituality is about the pursuit of God; it is a personal affair, not a corporate exercise in impressing others or getting as much out for yourself as is possible. - "

I can't wait till the CIMA exams are over. I have never felt so depressed in my life. I can't even do simple calculations. To make matters worse I can't even remember what I have been studying in my diploma years. How am I suppose to pass the papers?
Seriously, it will take a miracle for me to pass any of the papers. Just at the cracking point now.
11 more days and at this point I doubt I have even mastered 5% of any of the papers.
At the looks of it, its money going down the drain. Oh well, there is nothing much I can do perhaps I should just relax and do nothing. But yet I can't bring myself to do it.
What a struggle...

Wow... I can't believe it. I just read my sister's blog and its something I just want to say the same about last Saturday's Service. Guess she puts it better in words.

They always say plan plan plan. That's exactly what I did. But my plans never go the way I want it to go. There was some miscommunication about the conference tickets so I don't get to see Tony Blair after all. Probably the only reason that makes me all excited to go.

Won't be stopping by Dubai after my semester in the UK.

Argh..... well, now that I have lots of other plans ahead I am just reminded about this "In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps." or should I say that God reminded me of it.

Worry, anxiety and the things I want to achieve and the other hundred and one stuff is all mixed up in my little mind and its not helping at all that I have an average brain processor. Not that is of help anyway when things are beyond my control. So much of being in the reins and wanting to take charge.

Just trying my level best not to catch the flu bug that has plagued the office since I entered and also my home. Sick people stay away.... Don't know how long my defense system can function~!

I don't like it when I can't do anything about a problem and can't come up with a solution. Most of the time I am forced into such a situation and I am so frustrated but probably that is the only way I am stopped in my tracks to ponder and really realising that I am not capable and just helpless.

Knowing is one thing but really bringing it from the head to the heart is tough.

Will be moving out to the working world in about less than a year's time. The place where the lofty perks are. Can't believe it but its true that when you are in a place where you are allowed to choose its not easy. So much of me saying God let Your will be done. A struggle that is continuous.

For the past one week I have been thinking about what career I would like to do in the next couple of years and what I would like to achieve. I am suppose to be focusing on passing my CIMA exams (which I tell you I am far from being able to pass at the rate things are going) but my mind is like some little unsettle kid jumping up and about as if I am graduating soon.

I said that I want the Lord's hand in my life and also directing my path but so fast I tell Him what I want practically giving Him the directions on how to lead me instead. Before I even finish my day dream, He reminded me about where is He in all this. Not to mention that day itself during prayer they shared about the exact passage of Lot and Abram and how sometimes what we think is good and right may not be so and how we should not look at others and envy their success because if the Lord is at hand then He is.

Today, I was looking at my friend's facebook profile. She's same age with me and she has a little baby already. Just looking at her baby and her just kick in the reality that I am an adult now. Don't get me wrong I am not jealous nor wanting one anytime soon. Its nice seeing the little girl in her mum's arms but sends the chills down mine. Gosh! A mum at this age? She makes a great one though. Salute her for her courage! Was quite funny when I saw she named her little girl the same name with one of my good friends. =)

I am currently reading a book entitled 'A woman God can use.' Hurt my ankle and my body still aches after superman style on the court so I read my book. Well, from the title you would probably think its for women only. Strangely enough I thought it was going to tell me what to do and all but not so. The author takes several characters, all women of course to discuss. I was reading about Rahab today.

Anyway, back to the topic. It was interesting to see how God can use someone of the no status in society to be on the Hall of Faith that is recorded in Hebrews. I was drawn into the part that Rahab was not part of the Israelites but she made it into the line where the Messiah comes from.

The first mention of her in the bible didn't sound as though there was any hope for her and she was doom to be destroyed like the rest of them in the city of Jericho but because at the split of second she made the right decision and decided to help the spies, she and not only herself but ALL those that were in the house when the Israelites came were spared.

To me I was reminded once again about the many 'split second' decisions I had to make in life. Often it seems to be the wrong ones. Those decisions that has to be made showed what she was built off. She was rooted in something that is not off her culture. She stood against her people. When everyone would think that what she did was a serious risk she took it for she had faith that the Israelites God was the God of the heaven and earth.

I wonder how I would respond if I am in that situation would I change from being a 'prostitute' to be one of the 2 women mention in the Hall of faith? Certainly shows how God forgives our sins and using what seems hopeless, useless and broken to glorify His name. Question is we each have that question to answer. Are we willing to take the risk and believe the Lion of Judah? Question only each person can answer on their own but is a question that will change your life and your entire world.

So many cross roads in life. Its every single thing. Whether to choose A or B? Be good or naughty? Job? Studies? Lord, wouldn't it be much easier if You just tell me what You want me to do. Sometimes I thank You for the freedom but I will really be happy I guess with whatever You want me to do. So why not You just decide for me.

Vision.... Is my vision dying? Vision is the ability to see it, the faith to believe it, the courage to do it, and the hope to endure until it happens. Take any of these components away and vision fails. Each is vital, and indispensable. Which stage am I at?

I know YOU will lead. So far through out my entire life You have such good track record. Never once You have failed me. If only I can just trust You. Me and my stupid "impatienceness". Cant believe it today You just so filled every passage with words of comfort and also directions. Indeed You will direct my path and make it straight. Praise You for Your everlasting works!

Ok Lord You heard me. The reins are Yours. Sorry ya. =)
