So its a new year. Hmmm reaching quarter century. Looking back can't tell if I want to change anything in. my life. Ok maybe the snacking n. more snacking. Hehe...

I do have certain goals that I want to attain though like doing my masters before I hit 26 (time is.  running out), traveling to 15 countries before I hit 30 (this I just thought of).

So while many feng shui experts or astrologers predicts what 2013 en tails, I personally believe that it wi ll be a year of greatness n excitement. One thing for sure there will be excitement in Malaysia with the upcoming general elections. Much uncertainty but in it much anticipation as well.

Whatever it is it will be another year in history. Happy New Year everyone :)

Yes! I pass my final CIMA paper (CIMA T4 paper). That closes one chapter of my life. I still have to complete my 3 years working experience but at least the stress of juggling between studying and work is now lighten. I still have my Greek and possibly more to come but now I can strike off one.

Thank you Lord!

This is what I get after 6 months of Greek. Couldn't have done it without my sis. She translates Greek much better than me while I can only memorise Greek words / paradigms which is not important when it comes to the real purpose of why we study Greek. May Greek be not so Greek.

Should I continue with another 6 months of Greek? Sighz... Can't really tell after all its really tough to juggle studying for Greek as well as work and I would most likely take my Adv Certification in AML.... Hmmm.....

Anyway thank God for the marginal pass!!! :) "Hey its Greek anyway.... not aiming for a 90%"

Hi Wen Lin,

Just to inform you that you scored 28 marks out of a possible 50 in the greek 1 final exam. Your overall score for the entire Greek 1 course is 60, i.e. a D-. Congratulations! I hope you will continue to take Greek 2 so as to complete your knowledge of biblical greek and thus be able to make good use of what you have learned so far to help you to better interpret the New Testament.

Best regards.

Yes, I passed my ICA exams =) Will be skipping the IBBM Awards Ceremony but will definitely make it for the CIMA one when I am finally done with it. Do hope that I will be able to say the same of CIMA this coming July and Greek at the end of 2012. A year of learning... Studying is so much fun!

Now if only I can find sponsors to allow me to continue in my learning quest :P

From now till 24 May its going to be quite an interesting juggle. Work, Greek classes and the CIMA T4 case (Its about the Toy Industry this time round.... ie loads of reading up about toys and its design) which I unfortunately didn't pass the last round so yes it's on my to do list once again.

Despite the busyness, glad that we (my sis + her school mate / my senior) met up with our former CF teacher. Always treasured those special moments when we had to cross over the road to have our underground meetings and this special teacher , Mrs Lee used to come eventhough she has retired from the school just to encourage us. How awesome!!

Anyway, work is not getting any easier with new responsibilities and news that more colleagues are leaving the bank to greener pastures. I am also keen of moving on to greener pastures. It's really difficult not to want to move on especially when you see your peers overseas. I am really hoping to be able to get an overseas experience in my career. It will be good to go explore a different culture, a different environment, and a different country. I just love learning new things, exploring, just being able to do something different each day. Learning its just so fun and exciting in some ways....

Of course the dreams of doing my masters is still there. Sometimes, I do wish that I had enough to go see the world and also do my masters at the same time. Unfortunately, at the moment can do neither. With everything being so expensive, even staying a float in this economic crisis is not easy. Needless to say, luxury phones, clothes and fashion accessories is certainly not in my list at the moment. Amazing how some friends who are around my age are already getting their own cars, houses, property?? I am way behind in this monetary achievements. Nevertheless, I am still grateful that I have my parents home to live in, four wheels to enable me to move around, food each day on my table and the little extras that makes me 2nd - 3rd class in the society.

I still haven't figured out what I want to major in. Not sure whether I want to be in the same industry, or finally do something related to CIMA, or take on a totally different field..... Sometimes I wish everything is either black or white. 2 options are always easier, don't you think?

Anyway, for now I've got my paper to focus on, my Greek exams (Not doing too well, Greek is so Greek), and the other usual responsibilities in church and at work. Some cartoon humour for the week!!

wanting more cartoons, wanting more cartoon, wanting more picture, wanting more pictures, wanting more image, wanting more images, wanting more illustration, wanting more illustrations

"It was so easy for me because the more balls I had juggling, the better I felt."

What a statement! I was reading this and it does remind me of me. Although, I complaint about workload but I like to take on a few things at one go that it becomes really weird if I have only one thing to depend on. Perhaps that's the reason why I must still study when I am working. If I have to work alone it would be weird, studying seems to add a different flavour to my life. However, I doubt those around me will feel the same way.

Anyway, the whole month of January has been a busy month and like what my buddy Levina says I like to be kept busy. However, not good to be busy all the time because there is no time to reflect and really re-think and that's why I like holidays! =)

So how what has Ms.Busy been up to see below :

1. I am taking Greek class now. Yes you read it right Greek. So the next time someone say are you speaking Greek? I might just turn round and say yes! Planning to complete the course which takes a year and yes its on Credit meaning its like college where there are test, mid sem exams and final exam. ("Just Great!")

2. In the midst of finish of my T4 CIMA paper. Unfortunate for me and though I hate to admit it. I have flunk my paper and just to make myself feel slightly better I needed one more mark to pass so yes I needed just one more mark to pass!! This adds another point to why I want to study in the US instead of the UK. So rigid!! However am quite grateful that the case study this round is also on an industry that I am quite comfortable with.

3. Oh yes and this month I will be sitting for my Certificate in AML and CFT paper. I have an assignment due this Friday and an exam at the end of the month. If I have the time to squeeze I would want to take up the Advanced Certificate which will run for 9 months. Longer duration to the one I am currently taking.

4. I will be flying to Hong Kong this month for work assignment but am so glad that I have the privileged to be able to bring Levina along. Flying up a day earlier to check the place out and its nice to be able to have company. =) So that's a whole week and certainly means more work to finish before I leave and more work when I come back =( But I guess its quite a rare opportunity and am thankful that eventhough I am just a low rank officer in the bank, God has given me the opportunity.

5. Lunch breaks are little walk and jog time. Have started going with my colleague to the bank's gym. Really quite refreshing eventhough its just an hour.

6.Visiting!!! It's been a month of visiting and meeting up. Met up with friends who are with YWAM who are back for CNY holidays, relatives, Convent friends and yesterday with the TARC CFers. Its really nice to meet up with everyone again. Hehe!!! Glad that we can go "pai nin" every year.

That pretty much sums up I everything I guess. For a person who complaints quite a bit, God has really been merciful. His love endures forever. Going to miss the public holidays....... May faster come!!! =)

2011

A year that saw Muammar Gadaffi die, Terrible Tsunami in Japan, saw many Westerners lost their jobs, the Apple King dead, North Korea's Country Head died, Famine, Flooding and Bersih 2011. It is also the year where the war between US and Iraq ended, Palestine admitted into UNESCO, Harimau Malaya won Gold Medal in Sea Games, and my sister Graduated from her MBA.

Looking back I just realised how much I complain about work. Still do....However, my outlook of work has since quite change realising that the main reason of my existence is to glorify HIM. If you would ask me how I would summarise the year 2011 well the one word I would use to describe 2011 is humbling.

A year that I am brought back to ground zero. After all the achievements, positions, titles and knowing the ins and outs of whatever I do, I am brought back to a place where I know nothing, no experience, the youngest as well as 'no voice'. Learning to rely on HIM more than my own knowledge and experience.

It has been the year of 'First' of many things as well.

My First - Permanent Job (Stated in Dec 2010)
My First - Mandarin Class
My First - Easter Sunrise Service
My First - Trip to Kota Kinabalu (covered from KK to Kota Belud), Sabah
My First - Time being part of the World Vision Famine Campaign
My First - Carol-ling at a Christian Bookshop in KL.
My First - Trip to China

It was really heart warming to see young children grow as well. Am really glad and proud of the young ones in class that managed to memorise the whole psalm 23 in less than 40 minutes. (Some as young as 9 years old) Saw them grow in size too (esp the little ones).

A year where ICC took new steps as well. We commissioned our first Pastor and also moved into our new premise.

It's quite funny as the tough times are also usually the most unforgettable times. I am thankful to God for the ups and downs through out the year. He has indeed been faithful even when I am faithless. 2 Thess 3:3 ' But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.'

Looking forward to the adventures in 2012.....

Up next - Exam Results in Mid Jan, CNY, AML Certification Feb, Hong Kong Work & Leisure Trip Feb and loads more to come :)

First and foremost, apologise for no updates for a month. Have been off any kind of media for a month.Something we agreed as a family for 21 days, then I was preparing for my professional paper so couldn't update.

Today I will be leaving for China and will be there for 8 days. Wonder how it will be since its m first time there. Strangely, lots of negative stories floating around from friends. Nevertheless, I'm sure it will be an eye opening experience.

Probably wondering what's the title of this blog got to do with anything. Well.... I was sleeping and i heard "tak" sound and I am now unable to move my head, nor lift my left hand up high. No massages from dad or mum is helping and the ice pack solution does not seem to relieve the pain. Really praying that it will get better because I am already dreading the plane flight and the bumpy bus rides.

Goodness knows how I am going to lie down and rest my head tonight. Guess my mum will be quite please for now that she doesn't have to 'yell' at me for slouching. I have a straight spine and a tilted head. If you see any weirdos walking like a robot say hi because it must be me.

ok typing this in agony because I'm tilting my head and using one hand. Shall stop here and blog after I return from the great Chinese land.

Don't be afraid to fail. Don't waste energy trying to cover up failure. Learn from your failures and go on to the next challenge. It's OK to fail. If you're not failing, you're not growing.
H. Stanley Judd

I have failed 2 mock tests and I am going to fail the mock test I sat yesterday. What a failure. I just can't seem to be able to complete the whole report in 3 hours. Calculations will take me about 45 minutes to an hour and writing the whole report is just challenging to be in-depth, focus and diverse within such a short period of time.

How am I growing by failing this mock test? I really pray that I won't fail the real exam which is about a month from now.

Anyway, I was going through all the quotes about failing and guess what it links to success and quotes about success has more failures in it than success.

Can't I just skip the failing part? There are others who don't fail right?

Well, one more mock test to go this Sunday. Wish me all the best!

TOP CIMA pre-seen case has been released. Question now is should I or should I not take it this sitting. I have kept it on hold for nearly a year. Will I be able to cope between studying for the paper and also work? As it is, work alone is already more than I can handle. With another colleague going on maternity leave will my workload become even heavier? One colleague is already on maternity leave and work has been channeled down to me. Her boss is now going on maternity as well which makes it double trouble.

The question I ask myself am I really ready to enter the workforce. Perhaps I graduated too soon. Perhaps I needed to be in the cocoon a little longer before flapping my wings and trying to take flight.

Anyway back to the topic. CIMA, 2 things I need before I can finally say I have completed it.
1. To get the 3 years working experience (I really don't know how I am going to get this 3 years.)
2. To sit for the TOPCIMA exam and pass it. (This Nov sitting or some other time?)

The industry this time round is supermarket. Sounds interesting but retail is a little scary thanks to the bad experience from previous assignments. The case however is centered round Sustainability. The most talked issue, Corporate Social Responsibility. Decisions, decisions, decisions. I guess the thought of probably failing and having to re-take (extra pounds to be paid) makes the decision even harder. Oh well, I will still have to decide when the time comes.

Alright, we are right in the busiest period of being in UK. All coursework assignments are due this month. Well initially I was suppose to go to Scotland through one of the tours but it got cancel so I thought well thats the end anyway better concentrate in my studies but well first effort and output doesn't produce the same results so well why bother! Better go have some sightseeing fun to make this journey to UK worthwhile. Another would be to do something I have never done before that is driving up to Scotland. (Not me driving!) and also to see the place where Levina, Yi Huang and the rest would be studying. [Checking out the place before Levina comes so that I can kill every bad influence that might pollute her more. :P]

I have finish my Corporate Reporting Coursework which is due next Monday (not because I am hardworking rather because I won't be around to hand it in) and also I have done nearly 60-70% of my Strategic Management Accounting Coursework which is due on the 23rd of this month. The only one which I am worried about is the Professional Accounting Skills and Business Decision. How I wish we can choose our own group members. I really don't mind working with others but seriously the group you are with decides how well you are going to do and also how efficient the work gets done. If I am with my course mates back in TARC by today it will be done. Sighz.....

Well till next week then for the pictures and updates from Scotland =) Do pray for journey mercy for us. Should get back to my assignments now......

It was indeed a much needed time out. After 7 weeks studying in UK and only bad news regarding my assignments (only 2 assessed assignments so far but all bad) it was good to getaway and just leave Sheffield. I guess I will be getting poor results till I am able to find what my lecturer wants out of the assignment anyway lets leave that aside for now.

I would called it a very interesting weekend which started on Thursday. Manage to get someone to walk with me all the way to Meadowhall which is about an hour and the half walk from where I stay. It was very nice as I have not seen any river in UK yet so it was nice =) Meadowhall is quite huge has a much wider selection compared to Sheffield City Center. Would probably go back there again.

Along the way to entertain myself :P

The riverside. Water is very clear and deep!

The end of the shopping cum walking trip to Meadowhall. Next time go on my own.... The tour guide has been there 5 times so can't shop long if not he will be bored.... :P Although the tour guide was patient but paiseh....

Then it was my little discovery journey to Liverpool. Took a coach down to Liverpool and met up with Xin Xin, Michelle and also Magdalene. Magdalene brought me shopping on Friday, Xin Xin took me out to see Liverpool on Saturday and in the night Xin Xin and Michelle brought me to see the night life in Liverpool. Sunday Michelle took me out shopping. Thanks to my tour guides I loved my time in Liverpool but seriously it has more life than Sheffield. Great dock and also shopping!

I enjoyed a different twist to service as well. Joined the LJMU folks in Hope City Church. Pastor Louie spoke a pastor from the Sheffield Hope City Church and I must say that I really enjoyed the message. Well I will leave the details out this time but just to note it was refreshing.

Wished I had more time in Liverpool!
