The song below came to mind this week. When I look back at my life, I have to say I'm loved by the Most High God. Why would He care so much for me that though I fail Him so many times, He still continues to call me? He lavishes His abundant love giving me what I do not deserve.

A question I can never understand. What makes the Lord of the Heavenly Host stoop so low so that He can reach me, one who is insignificant? I'm truly thankful for this privilege to not only be allowed to be associated with Him but to be a part of His royal family. To be given the right to be a called a child of the Living God, placed above the angels. O may I never take for granted the depth of His love.

Who am I, that the lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt?
Who am I, that the bright and morning star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart?

Who am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love
And watch me rise again?
Who am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me?

Not because of who I am
But because of what you've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who you are

I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still you hear me when I'm calling
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling
And you've told me who I am
I am yours

Celebrating a colleague's birthday. I'm thankful for the team which God has given. God never fails to bring great people to walk alongside my career journey.

They may all be older than me but definitely younger at heart.

With the former HSBC folks. Only one more left in HSBC. I'm thankful for my time in HSBC. Looking back, God has done the foundation work from Day 1.

Tried out a new place, Mollagaa and the food was good. It was quite a torture only being able to eat veg & eggs but the dishes were tasty which made it bearable

Former colleague knows my life for spicy chips and packed some for me....Yummy! I prefer the drier, non sticky ones but this is tasty too. Spice up the week!

Guess there will be more of such lunch prep. I get this every time mum is on break and now that she's officially off, guess more to come. Soon I can have my meat added on the meal preps. Wheee.......!!

One of the most expensive veg bowl I had. Surprisingly taste wise was not too bad. I wouldn't mind eating this again. Seniman Cocoa Buddha's Bowl. Buddha sure has an expensive taste buds. Haha....

At the rate mum is going, I think I'm doom! Tomato Egg Noodle in the morning, lunch prep and dinners all prepared... Feeling loved but not doing well to my already growing waist line and no time for hiking or exercise. ahhhhh!!!!
Can't wait to be done and over with the projects in office and to hand in my assignment on Monday. Final assignment for the year! May God help me finish 4000 words by tomorrow! Apart from finding the materials, I have not written a word. 🙈 I don't know if I'll be able to get through 2nd year much less 3rd year. O God help me get through these 3 years, plssss........

Just a few more weeks to Christmas. Ahhh.... The season of joyous celebration! 🎉 There's no white Christmas here, nor pine trees but it's D season of the year. And this year the celebration seems to be one notch up from visiting newborns, to weddings.... Lalalalaaaalaaaa......

Anyways... after the many weeks of what I would call a rush lunch (hardly a lunch) , I rewarded myself with a mini getaway lunch on Friday to Mid Valley since there were no lunch meetings. (dread lunch meetings 😵) Tried the new pedestrian Bridge from Abdullah Hukum and my conclusion, it's now the same amount of time taken to Mid Valley or to KLCC from office. 😁 So in slightly more than 1.5 hours, I can buy groceries, get lunch and be back in office. Pretty impressive!

Lots of people trying out the new link bridge too. Mid Valley stationed 3 people to count the number of people using the new link bridge.

I went looking for apples but sadly they only have the small ones. Got myself nectarines + blueberries .... 😂 And even a reminder at the fruits section.

I received two reminders of 2 weddings which I have already agreed to but somehow I didn't put them in my calendar and totally forgotten all about it. 🙈 So I was quite late for the wedding today as I had promised the children I'll be coming over to teach them the song for Christmas. And anyways... it always bring me such joy to spend time with them. The welcome they give me every time I come is such a delight.

While driving in, I saw two young boys walking out instead of walking to church. From afar they saw my car and started waving at me. I asked them why they were walking out and they said, 'saya ingat cikgu tak akan datang. Saya dah tunggu tapi tak ada orang' . I looked at him and said, 'Cikgu kan pesan pukul 10 pagi, skrang baru pukul 9.30 pagi' . He said o and smile started running with his friend back to church refusing my ride to church. And as I drove down to church there was a mini crowd. They were all waiting around the church area way before the agreed time. What a surprise! Well, we had a good time practicing for Christmas. They're fast learners. And I taught them another English song. One new English song for Christmas each year.

And rushed to the wedding. Bump into the groom as I arrived and first thing he said, You've just arrived? Haha... 😅 Apparently the wedding ceremony just ended and I've made it in time for lunch. Well guess I made it for the most important part of the occasion.. 😂

First time being served such a huge "slab" of wedding cake that we have to distribute on our own.

And the mother is finallyyyyy retired..... What a way to end her teaching career... With a bang! Her very last day at school was at the hospital receiving the reallyyyy good news that she's cancer freee. God has been so so good. Now on to a new chapter. 😉☺️

There are days when the mind loses focus. The vision gets blurred. Why? Why the need to walk the narrow road? Isn't the broad road better? It surely looks like it has less obstacles, less waiting, it looks so much easier and better. Many others have it easy so why... why must one walk the narrow road?

Well the Bible does say that the broad road leads to destruction but is it really true? Can't I have life and 'the much acclaimed life' too? The truth is, if I believe the Bible is true, that God is true to His word then His warnings are true. His instructions are right. The only true way is doing things His way.

Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

It's a warning, a reminder yet an encouragement to keep walking the narrow path. We are each walking our own path (because the Lord has specific paths for each and every one of us) and we cannot walk for each other but I've learned that in the midst of it (the silence, the distance) I can still glean hidden gems.

The silent encouragement brings about a different strength, one that I'm now only learning the depth of it. Lifting one another in prayer. Encouraging from a distance. I guess just knowing that someone else is walking and journeying through together gives encouragement to keep going. Keeps my eyes focus on the goal.

Seeing others fasting, I'm encouraged to deepen my relationship with the Maker. I am inspired to relook at my own commitments to God. Is fried chicken and pork enough? What can I bring as an offering to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords who desire not burnt offering or sacrifice? BUT Is the pain, waiting necessary, is it worth it? I take heart knowing that nothing is wasted when it is in the hands of God. One day.... I'm confident that when I look back (hopefuly before I reach heaven's door) I'll see its worth.

Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wonderful works to humankind.  For he satisfies the thirsty, and the hungry he fills with good things. Psalms 107:8‭-‬9 NRSV

I thank the Lord for His amazing goodness. For the good that He has bless me with. Surely He is God that satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

I have been challenged over and over again to catch the heart of God. What really is the heart of God for this nation & generation? In the midst of all the busyness it's quite easy to slip in to the motion of "doing" things / being busy and losing sight on what truly matters. What truly matters is what matters to God. It's such a challenge to avoid circumstances or emotions rule how we live but we have a higher calling and for this purpose "...we are taking every thought and purpose captive to the obedience of Christ," 2 Corinthians 10:5b

Paul says : Therefore, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now even more in my absence, continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God who works in you to will and to act on behalf of His good pleasure. Philippians 2 :12-13
The measuring stick is Christ. He is the litmus test that we test our every thought, intentions, actions against. And my prayer / hope is that I'll be found by God that the very substance within me after filtering out the gravel, sand and dirt is pure gold! To reach the finish line and hear the much awaited commendation "Well done, good and faithful servant.
And on that, I am reminded in today's reading and also in Pastor Daniel Tan's message today that once that God vision is given, to have the 'Gideon spirit' - work hard and not give up.
QUOTE
I like thinkers. They make me think. And I applaud their ability to plot. But I love doers even more. They inspire me to action. And it’s the plodders, not the plotters, who make things happen.
God isn’t going to say, “Well planned, good and faithful servant.” He won’t say well thought, well said, or well strategized either. There is one commendation: “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25

A beautiful artwork at IJN. How imaginative and creative
8 years has passed since my very first conference in 2011.

10th International Financial Crime Conference. Bigger crowd every year.

Prime Minister was in the house.
And my very first time seeing a teleprompter up close. This is what makes the big shots look so professional in their delivery. Interestingly, only Tun alone uses the teleprompter.

Indian vs Chinese eyes. I blame it on my dark rings and eye bags..🤣

When colleagues are not just work mates but your friends.

So happy to be able to meet up with friends from yesteryears

The fruits are sweet but not as sweet as the sender. Thank you! I am truly blessed! God sent!😊 I was developing mouth ulcers probably from the lack of sleep but the apples kept the doctor away 🤣 And sender if you are reading this, I appreciate them.

Note : For now, all sweetness to be channeled to the Most High as an offering of pleasing aroma to Him. 😉

At a very Intensive Week, the lunch at SPTC was scrumptious. Food overload 😋

Sunday morning brunch with the mother and sister while waiting for the father at Brickfields... Sri Pandi's!

And a new week unfolds.... Year End is coming soon... 😊 Christmas!... okay now sleeps... 😴

It's been more than a month since I last updated this space. I would say it has been quite a month. I'll need probably another month to let it all sink in and reflect all the events / moments that took place in the month. From meeting up with friends, to traveling to two different countries, one outstation trip to crazies in office and life moments which are significant, it's certainly not how I would have anticipated the events to unfold but nevertheless, I am blessed that in all of "these", God has been the 'more than' in my life. He has been more than enough. He has sustained and strengthened me in the ups and downs.

Warning : This is a long post but I'll be short since I'm still in recovery mode from Jakarta having just landed this morning. ;)

So I was given a week's notice to go down to Jakarta. Quite crazy having to squeeze this trip in since it's already so busy in office. Anyway, this is the only time we can squeeze in as it's International Conference on Financial Crime and Terrorist Financing next week at Shangri-La so will just have to make do with a 3 days 2 nights short trip. Really pack 😣 This trip, I had another colleague from the Project Management Office who came with me and because she needed to come back to KL by 4pm, we settled for Malindo instead of MAS due to the flight timing. I'll choose MAS over Malindo for the following reasons, the food and air flight entertainment.

One funny thing happened during the trip. After all the hospitality given by the team, I agreed to go for drinks after work so that I can return the hospitality. I am so naive to think that drinks after work would refer to tea rather than alcohol. 🙄Who would think that a muslim country would drink alcohol. I had sparkling juice instead while the group of all guys had Carlsberg beer. While I did not particularly enjoy the cigarette smoke over drink session, I learned that there are many hiking places in Indonesia.

Boarding from KL to Jakarta on Thursday, 31 Oct 19. Love the view of the sky.

Love the morning buffet spread. This is what you call a hearty breakfast😂 It was quite a bummer that I can't have pork or fried chicken. A buffet that has a pork station which is unheard of in Malaysian Hotels. This fast has been quite a challenging one! I never knew it was harder than fasting meals. I realised how reliant I am to these 🥓🍗🥩😭😢

Stayed at Fairmont Jakarta. I wish I can pocket the money for the accommodation instead. It's a really nice stay. Sad that it was hazy and the schedule was too pack if not a nice swim would have been nice. Nice view facing the golf course and they warm the toilet seats and have super cool toilet functions.

Some of the photos from the trip. Didn't manage to see much of Jakarta except the hotel, the mall in between the office and the hotel and the airport. Was treated with lunch by the Head of Compliance to Indonesian food at Remboelan, then we had Nasi Padang for dinner at Sari Ratu. Next day after a heavy breakfast, the team bought Monami kueh mueh and a huge plate of fruit rojak. I had none since I was just so full from breakfast. Lunch was at Bakmi GM but I could hardly eat still. Then dinner or rather just drinks at De Luca.

Seeing the beautiful photos of Annapura, I wish I could have been on the trip too although a bit scared since it does sounds tough. Well, I'll settled with this map overview, the pictures and videos that came through. 😊

Last Monday to Wednesday. It was a crazy Worship Central conference because I was trying to complete my assignment which was due at 3pm. Missed the first plenary session but I had a good time still. Stressed from work and assignments, my shoulders and back were aching but I felt so much better after worship. I left wanting more worship sessions!

Lunch with the ladies. We all came in red without any prior planning. The restaurant design is quite unique but food wise nothing to shout about. I ordered Chicken 65 and realised how silly a move since I can't have fried chicken. 😭 So I had no meat at all.... 😫

October Birthday boys! Followed of course with scrumptious meals. Tjoe's celebration was in Sg Chua while Dad wanted to have his in Seremban. So Seremban it is! Mannn.... all these food celebration and it appears that the family are fried chicken / pork lovers... 😣 This is becoming quite a vegetarian fast...

It's been so busy in office that I settled for food delivery. Tried dahmakan for the first time and while the taste was okay I don't like my food cold. So blessed that my colleague decided to sweeten my day with cake and other snacks occasionally. Really blessed! Apples which came as a mid week surprise was a sweet surprise. Huge nutritious apples that kept me going. Kept the doctor away alright... hehehe... Hahaha... can I have stone fruits too (nectarine, peaches) ? 😛

It was a mini family reunion and a trip back to Taiping. A 2 days 1 Night trip to Taiping. It is not an event for celebration but it was a time of reunion with relatives and a siblings get-together road trip at least on the way down since the parents went a day earlier. No KFC fried chicken or wan tan mee char siew or pork in prawn mee..... this is quite a torture..... 😫

Tired a new cafe at Masjid Jamek. Short lunch but it was a good time catching up with former compliance colleagues

Farewell lunch for Daniel (Group Chief Compliance Officer) at Lemon Garden, Shangri-La. More fooood 🙈 I need to stop all this buffet eating... not helping my waistline / dress size.
So I finally agreed to move from my seat to make way for the new joiners. My new work space, quite secluded.

Shi Ni's wedding! The highlight of the wedding other than the wedding couple as was meeting up with former HSBC colleagues. Christine who gave me the foundation that I needed in this field and now her husband Daniel that I have become great friends with. Love this couple! & Jo Anne who was a great big sister to me throughout my time in HSBC and I would say still is.

Took Levina to try Betel Leaf and Jai Hind (Punjabi food). Both places that I don't mind going.

Mel's engagement dinner with the gang. Sam brought Gabriel who had an interesting conversion story of how he came back to Christ. God is amazing! He seeks us out no matter how far we've gone. Well, we had such a good time that I nearly broke my fast on the very first day of the fast itself. 😅

5 days work trip to Cambodia. It was so nice that Hou flew in on Wednesday and we spent 2 Days and 2 nights together in Cambodia. He made my trip so much more interesting and pleasant. A good brother sister trip.

A few photos of our food consumption. Bon Appetite!

Family Mart moments. Finally tried Belgian Dark Chocolate. It was goood.
That's about all the updates... Monday awaits with work, conference and sptc assignment. Whatever is up head I have this assurance that I can rest and be secured that my life is in the hands of none other than the maker of this universe.
