I had a day off!!! and.... what did I do? Hang out with a bunch of crazy gals and talk about our good ol' days. Weird how we never get tired of talking about them. Brings us back right to that moment in time. So Awesome!

Well we were suppose to meet up and our favourite (or rather usual) hang out spot during our school days. A ABC shop behind Kajang Market. We used to frequent the place for lunch before Add Maths Tuition or when we have activities in school. Sadly it was close. I haven't been to the shop since the lady owner died (killed by some robbers in the evening!! Shocking!!)

So, Terri one of the gals suggested we visit school before going for lunch. I was like what??? School??? At this time (it was already 12.40pm) I gave excuse like who are we going to meet there? No teachers will be around for us to visit and etc but well she persuaded us and Wei Jean went off and change into jeans (no attire above the knees allowed in school)

Off we went. Just as we stepped out of the car we met our former discipline teacher. Yes! The one and only Pn. Nirmala. It was a love and hate relationship. She's really quite nice to hang out with except of course for the silly rules she makes us abide. Eg. Ribbon must be used after tying up your hair ensure that its certain centimeter only light blue, and black. No talking loudly. Yeah the list goes on but she thought me Literature in English (Only had 9 of us who took the subject) and we had loads of fun in class with her.

Anyway before long, my modern + add maths teacher walked out and Pn . Nirmala called out "Eh Pn Lim. You remember these girls?" Pn Lim replied while walking to a shop nearby only pausing a little to say "Yeah I can remember only two of them. Especially that one!" (Pointing to me). [Obviously she thought my elder sister, me and my younger sister, what else wasn't one of those easy students to have around :p]

We manage to make our way to the school entrance which was about 150meters away from our car and met up with more of our school teachers. Needless to say many of the above happened again with the usual question. What are you all doing now? Wah so long already, we are getting old, decomposing and bla bla bla...

Ok. Walking back into school brings fresh memories of the things you do. Too bad I didn't have a camera with me. We were busy comparing the changes in the school. The teachers were also proud with the changes but the still have the exactly same red fans and the pink walls. Of course now the have bright orange doors and windows with slightly less bright orange walls with the pink fans.

The blackboard is still the old one where we used to stand on it walking around on the attached cupboard to get our classmates attention or pretty much sit on it just for the fun of it. Seriously, a bunch of monkeys. :) However, it now has the white board stuck on it.

The photos below were taken using Terri's handphone.

School Hall with the Hall of Fame. The list of PMR and SPM Best Student, Head Prefects, Best Overall Students, School Principal. School Hall was also the place where I spend most of my school life and also nights practicing last minute for choir competitions. Oh yes the place where we shared our joys and also where we had our fights. Choir practice were memorable but stressful. It was also the place where formal functions such as price giving ceremony and PIBG were held.

Ah! Our School Canteen. One of the places that's used by both the Secondary and Primary School. Lots of changes. Titled floor and new table and chairs. We used to have wooden table and wooden chairs and the floor was concrete. Will always remember the keropok leko's that brought us so much trouble with the teachers and the school prefect. (Never quite got why the canteen operators used to only finish frying the keropok leko when the school bell rings - recess time is over)
The place we used to line up for Monday Morning Assembly in Secondary School. With the Primary School surrounding it. How they get tortured with the noise that comes from us. Oh also quite a dangerous place to walk by as Ms.Tay used to throw books and bags out of the Standard 6 classes especially when the work handed in is deemed rubbish to her. Never know when you might get an exercise book hitting your head while you are walking around that area. Only way to avoid is to ensure you don't hear her voice when you walk. If you hear her shouting is best to watch your head. (Still adore Ms.Tay nevertheless)

School field that floods. Remember the days we cheered and screamed with our teachers supporting our "Rumah Sukan" . Yeaps the teachers were equally all out! Just loved school sports! Oh and our very dear Girl Guide House. Probably the one and only in the whole daerah. A place where could hang out and make all the noise we want without the teachers banging on our doors. :) Oh yes and lots of secret stuff hidden inside. Illegal items usually :)

Yes mirrors. Plenty of them found. Wonder whether its because we are in an all girl school that there were mirrors on every corridor. We appreciated it during our school times straightening our uniform and tidying ourselves up.

I think this is photo that summarises it all up. 10 years of my time in Convent Kajang. 5 years in Secondary School and another 5 years in Primary School. This photo shows half of our secondary school which connects with our primary school. Both the gals beside me are childhood friends since Standard 2.

If I have the chance I am sure I can go on and on about stories in my years in school. Its really nice sometimes just to slip into the past and re-lived those years. Although many things have change but the Convent Spirit stays alive always. :)

Life can sometimes be so utterly confusing and so unexpected. Like for example, as a child being a banker would be something I would have never thought of. Even in college, the thought of working in a bank just brings distaste. Such an irony that I did my internship in a bank and my first ever job after graduation is in a bank. The most unexpected or unbelievable thing about working in the bank is in the department I am in, Compliance! That never came across neither was it in my vocabulary. I really wonder what other impossible things and moments of I never thought of would happen in the course of this life.

Sometimes in life, there are things that you never asked for but its put on your plate. Sometimes, you can decline but somethings there is no other choice but to swallow the food set before you. Still, the outcome varies, there are times when the forced food turns out to be something you actually enjoy but other times maybe something you don't. Complain and moan but sometimes things are never meant to be.

Anyway, today will be one of those days that will be remembered in history. Its really so heart warming to see people standing up for what they really believe in and at least trying to fight for a better tomorrow. Whether or not there is another better way to speak out, its really knowing that the citizens of Malaysia do really love the country.

Today, I saw what it means to be a Malaysian. It means whether or not you are a Malay,Chinese or Indian you stand up together because we are Malaysians. Yes, we have our different culture, different values perhaps but we learn to push aside our differences for something better tomorrow.

When all in the world becomes more corrupt and sin is just another word, its nice to know that people still wants justice to be done.

If any party would want to change the standards in Malaysia for the better rightfully the citizens will come out and support. I believe at the end of the day, the citizens of Malaysia only wants their needs to be look after and for a fair, transparent and clean Government. I believe too, that no matter which country in the world, the citizens echoes the same.

May Malaysia be the people's land.

Change is inevitable. Change is constant.

(Wei Jean, Terri)

Fantastic. Finally got some updates on my school friends. I'm hopeless in staying in touch with people. My long lost friends and I had a journey down memory lane today. We went out for lunch at our old time favourite ais kacang shop with curry noodles. Of course the aunty there recognizes me. It was suppose to be lunch but it went on till tea.

Wei Jean the gal I first knew thanks to my father is back from the States. Apart from journeying down the memories we had in school, I had a peek on what lives abroad is going to be. She shares some useful tips which I think I am going to need.

Terri, a soon to be doctor made me thank the LORD that I never chose to study medicine. She's doing great however. Love her very much. One gal that really takes the effort to keep in touch with everybody.

We went to school and got stop at the guard. So much for the keropok leko that Terri wanted from the school canteen. School rules don't just applies to the students but to the outsiders (which we are now) as well. Jean was in shorts (not the short shorts) and I wore a sleeveless 'baju'. Well, thats because we never thought of going to school when we came out of the house.

Love the good old days in school!!

Have to really take the effort to keep in touch with people. Sorry if I haven't been doing that well. Just don't know how some people are so good at it. Wonder where they get the time and energy...

Wanted to take pictures but forgot all about it, remembered only when we ended the day but then was quite weird to take pictures in the middle of the road. Next round for sure.

Going to miss my buddies so much. The recent AMA BBQ party in Villa Angsana brought us back together. After all the studying we had fun together. Glad we had so many willing ones to help us BBQ the food. =)
You know I have known Joelle for four years now. Amazing she was one of the first few people I met when I first entered TARC and then we ended up being placed in the same class together. We were groupmates up till my final year in TARC. Just love and enjoyed the chitty chatter we can have.
Shwu Lyn was the first gal I met first met in Advance Diploma. Looks quiet but she can be really wild as well. Awesome gal from Penang. Glad that we got to know each other and really she is one that loves arts just like jolly but end up in Accounting. The Duo's are a bomb!
Pei Chin is our dear mummy. She is one blur but yet very hilarious gal. Just love how she manages to get our notes and also keep us updated. She is one hardworking gal that attends every single class. Even when she is sick. Madness though.
Levina one I got to know better towards the end of first year in Advance. Became my team mate and work mate in most of the assignments. Great gal but special in the way she thinks and does things. Likes to play chipsmore.
The gal who is always in the group but yet not there. Haahaa! The gal is none other than Jane. Soo Qi I mean. She skips class but well she does not need class. She is one hardworking gal that will study on her own. The ones who is most loved by the lecturers.
Our course rep is Xiao Min. The apple of Mr.Clement's eye. He seems to pronounce her name with a very unique way. She really goes all out for the course. Doing her utmost best for our course.
Got to know Jessmyn much better in the past one year. A great gal. Very very sweet. I heard she is an awesome cook but have yet to try her good food. She is one who really takes care of other people's feelings and needs. Sensitive to others.
Maple Mah has a very cute voice when she has a sore throat. She is one cute gal. Have been groupmates with her. My group leader that takes our notes and also segregates the questions. She comes from the land of Ipoh just like Jessmyn.
Mages and Man Yan have been in the same group for 80% of the group assignments. The both of them really knows how to lighten things up. Mind you they both work out at the gym. They are probably the oldest in class too.

Don't ask me how come I suddenly think of writing this. Not too sure myself.
(From the left :Mages, Man Yan, Levina, Maple, Jessmyn, Pei Chin, Soo Qi, Xiao Min, Joelle and Shwu Lyn)

Finishing the last paper today brought mixed emotions. Partly relieved and excitement to what's up ahead. Could hardly concentrate in the papers as my thoughts keep flying away. :) Ahh.... one step closer to reaching the goal.

Glad to finally be home. Miss home so so much especially the people in it. At last....back to body step. Hehe! It has been ages. Amazing I managed to follow the whole class. I thought I was not going to make it. Seriously ever since the exams begin and me having the silly injury exercise has been rare. This will be my first agenda and the first thing I wanna do this hols. To get my stamina back :)

Anyway as the title above mention, the years in TARC has really been a wonderful journey. Not going to say much about CF already and also the rest as I have mention it in the earlier post. Its still too early to write about it. Just hours since I left college.

Finals is one stressful event. My family has been ever encouraging probably the only ones that doesn't put stress on me. They even came all the way down for dinner with me. Kept me going...
Spend the whole week eating with friends and it was great as they really take away your stress. Love the farewell hostel makan or so-called lar. All old gals... [Eunice, Michelle, Kar Mun, Jia Wen, Levina and also Jia Wen's friend. The guys came along to Song Sing, Edwin and Wei Zhen]

Last night was just unbelievable. Talk about not having guys in you room and I was just bragging about it to Jia Wen and in less than 2 hours I have 5 guys and 2 gals standing outside my room and singing "Happy Birthday". Madness I would say. Best part is its not even my birthday but they got the age right. Hehe! Well, they (Stef, Andrea, Kah Hong, Glenn, XP, Errol and Larry) were even so proud of asking the guard for permission to my room but of course they failed.

They the Pre-U actually gave me a farewell cake and card and turned my room upside down. Just give them 5 min and a storm would have taken place. =) Anyways, I was busy trying to study Risk and Control Strategy so I wonder how can we mitigate such risk?

Haahaa!!! Not going to think about it because I am thankful and grateful for knowing them and also having them that I could not bring myself to scream at them for the noise they were making in the room not to mention the mess. Haahaa!!! Eunice was there too but she was kinda lost. Just love that gal.

Going to miss them - the sakai prayer group-.I am also going to miss all the times in TARC. The CF geng. (Just too many to name, you know who you are) and also my buddies from the AMA class. Ahh..... a sigh of relief and yet mix with the feelings of leaving a part of myself back in TARC. Guess that is what moving on and growing on is about right? Only when we separate that more growth can occur. Like the ameba.

Going to make the best out of the next few months. Lots on the list line up. Trying to keep it as free as possible to do what I really wanna do. =)

The lower deck is where I lay my head at night for the 4 days in UM
The wonderfully "clean" fan

What a week it has been. Well, going for the Malaysian Accounting Students Convention (MASC) has been such an experience for me. My friends didn't want to come along as this would mean they would have to skip class so I decided to go alone. No regrets.

What is it like?

First day was rather an eye opener to me. The place (UM Third College) has made me appreciate TARC very much more. The rooms are dirty and dusty. Talk about TARC Hostel food, its 100% times better. Seriously!

Apart from the physical appearance from the place, the hospitality shown by the committee members must be commended. The help me to my room. They were a helpful bunch.

Ok! As everyone else came in groups. (LARGE Groups) I was left with no one. However, managed to get to know a few people from different University during our ice breaker sessions and during our long exodus to the hostel and to our venues.

Second day was pretty much the same. Enjoyed the company of my roommate. Though she skipped most of the sessions. She found it too boring so she and her friends enjoyed the sessions by having their own visit KL tour.

By the time it reached the third day. I feel as though I have been here studying here and this is my home. Pretty much got use to everything and was already feeling quite comfortable with the environment. Got use to the dirty place and everything else.

Final day talks were not appropriate for me but I must say the company was just wonderful. From walking alone the first day I was talking all the way to the lecture hall and all the way back. Just an awesome experience.

Overall the talks were quite good. Love the third day talks. I think the line up of speakers good. I was put in Company 14 - Robot Technology. We named our own company and we won the BEST Company award and First Price for Treasure Hunt.

I am glad I decided to step out of my comfort zone. Many of the guys were shocked that I went alone as they say girls usually will only go if they have companions. Quite true but then again, if we follow the crowd we will never get to our destination.

In a sea of 250 people and being the sole TARCian mixing with the local Uni people was quite a challenge. Had to speak mandarin to the Chinese and also Bahasa to the Malays.

Don't complain about the TARCians not being able to speak English. The class of AMA speaks much more English then I have in the past 4 days. =) They speak better English too. Well done to the TARCians. Oh yeah! Not to forget be proud of our qualifications!! =) Its D best!

The organizing committee of MASC did an excellent job! Very hospitable bunch of people. It was a good first time for them and me. =)

[Continuation]

The storm that came

The storm that left

However I wish another storm has passed. The earlier storm could be rectify quite quickly and things could be back to normal. What about the other storm? Why does He do such things I wonder. I said I cannot bear it. I am not able to "But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness'"

I am glad that before I did something I should not have the Lord reminded me through last Sunday's message. I have to stop trying to take things into my own hands and allow HIM to be the one in control. Although it was hard trying not to since it has been on mind for sometime. Finally the peace that I am on the right track.

[Pictures of the outcome] - The week we were suppose to present (11 Nov 09)
and the week we actually presented (18 Nov 09) in the middle is our FDM lecturer
heart4God
My body screams for rest. Almost every part seems to be working in a slightly slower speed. This was how my week was.
Tues
LONG group discussion rush off for CF and back to the desk.
Wed
7am awake. Continue draining my brain juice. Classmate came over at 11 something in the night revamp business plan idea and start from scratch till 4am
Thurs
7.20am cock crows. Half dead. Trapped in the room. Left for a total non beneficial class 2 hours and it was back in prison. Got along the whole gang to be trapped in the dungeon this time round. Work round the clock.
Fri
Passed out for about an hour around 6am. Energy level slight recharged. Finished up the last few bits. Cleaned up the palace chamber and rushed through the King's royal budget calculation 15 minits before presenting to His Majesty. Attain the tickets for the Royal Ball next wednesday. Finally got back to the countryside at 5pm and plug in to the power supply for 2 hours and I am up and running.

P/s Although we only had 4 days to complete the Business Plan but I must say I have learned much through reading. Enjoyed the work! Was the last of such an adventure with the gals. It was a GREAT reunion to the Awesome 5. The latest addition to the gang was with us to for this assignment.

[To be continued] The storm that came to E10 on Thurs Evening and left Fri Morning.

I have always been looking forward to the final semester in college. Pretty much something I have been wondering what it would be since I was still a child. Guess nothing much to shout about. Since the semester till now (week 5) I have been stress out just thinking how I am going to cope with the workload. Its nearly double the work I had last semester. What more with the floorball league going on and also new responsibilities undertaken. Just trying to remain afloat. How I am actually glad with the busyness keeps me from thinking about things that does no benefit. Don't have time to stop to complain or to even think about the pain.

What this academic semester looks like
  • Week 5 - Come up with a Business Plan (F&B Industry) for Financial Decision Management (FDM)
  • Week 6 - Presenting the Business Plan (FDM) , Risk and Control Strategy Test 1 (RCS)
  • Week 7 - Strategic Management (SM) Mid Term Test
  • Week 8 - 2 Analysis Report of Companies 6000 words for Strategic Financial Management (SFM)
  • Week 10 - Business Plan (Airline Industry) for FDM, Analysis Report 25 pages for SM, RCS Test 2 , Analysis Report of 2 Companies (RCS)
  • Week 11 - Presentation of the Business plan (FDM), Presentation of the report (SM)
Can't believe what external consultant do in 3 months or even more we are suppose to do in 5 days. Not to mention the heavy tutorials they load us with to present in class. Looking forward to Week 12. Hopefully can get some studying done to prepare for finals and also the upcoming external exams. Tips to those considering studying CIMA in TARC. Join us if you are looking for experience to work in a pressured environment. Lecturers are sure to give you a glimpse of what you get out there in the corporate world.
heart4God
Got some exercise today. After so many weeks of not going for class it was quite a torture. The new class I went power attack was seriously challenging. 100 over push ups and another 50 over sit ups. An intense cardio class. A mixture of push ups, sit ups, and lots of running, jumping, squats. I like it though! Awesome.

Class is getting a little more taxing this semester. The lecturers are not helping at all. I find it such a struggle to actually understand what they are saying especially since I can't even concentrate in class. I guess its age that sets in these lecturers that causes it. They turn round and round, tell their stories which most of the time is not related and things that can be put across in 10 words takes them more then half an hour. I need patience....

On another note, trustworthy people is really hard to come by.
heart4God
Something is happening and I know it is.
Its weird that we may all be in the same environment but not everyone can sense the same thing.
Whatever it is, its good that people actually start waking up with their senses wide awake. Following the routine of life is not what is suppose to be.
Do you want to see the hands of God move?
Many a times I wonder whether us, Christians actually want to see the Lord's hand moving in our lives, in our communities, in our families. One thing is sure for certain if HE moves in Your World, it will never be the same. You can't be living the same way, wanting the same things anymore. One thing I am always reminded is being lukewarm. In Revelations 3:15-16 The Lord says 'I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I would that you were cold or hot. So because you are lukewarm you are neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Such seriousness in speech. Yet when I look around I don't have to look far looking at myself many a times I feel that I am lukewarm neither cold nor hot. Fluctuating temperature. If we keep praying for the Lord to bring revival in our dry land then shouldn't it start with You?
It is funny sometimes to see Christians walking out into the world wanting to fight a battle without counting the armies in front of them and without doing proper preparation. It's as though a beggar with hardly any cloth on his body walking out into a battlefield and say 'I will bring victory by overcoming you my enemies'. How foolish!
Paul writes to the Ephesians saying
"Therefore take to yourselves the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand... your loins girded about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Above all, take the shield of faith...And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, ..."Eph 6:13-18
Only then we have chance to withstand the fierce battle we go through.

The power of prayer is great indeed. People has come up to me asking how to hear God. I remember asking the exact same question not too long ago. The answer is tuning our hearts to the Lord's. Hearing God and coming before Him is no more to the elite group of people as found in the Old testament but in Acts 2:38-39 "Every one of you," said St. Peter, "shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." To you is the promise, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. Amazing isn't it. And what can this power do?
"And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams." Acts 2:17.

I was challenged yesterday to get out of my comfort zone (lazing around) to run for my college. The outcomes after 11 rounds the Hostel :
1. Realizing how God is so Real.
2. He has the compassion and heart for my generation of people.
3. Mentally and Spiritually re-energized.
4. A - Almighty God will be lifted high
B - Boldness for His people to speak about Him
C - Courage when trials and tribulations come to persevere on
D - Determination to seek the Lord
E - Earnestly wanting to bring about change and the Lord's will to be done
F - Faith to arise
G - Grace. People will know that the Lord is full of grace.
H - Honesty among the students
I - Integrity in the way we live as students
J - Justice being kept in our college life
5. The purpose in TARC. Training, Anointing, Releasing Conquerors
6. The depressed and lonely, the relationships, purpose of life.
7. Completeness and the urgency in the message

He indeed loves the people (Students of TARC) and I pray that I might beat where His heart is. I will end with this song.

I once was lost but You found me and now I'm free
I need Your power to come and change me
Your Spirit lives in me
I wanna dance for all to see
What compares to Your redeeming Love
What can separate me from Your Love
I need You in my life
I'm never letting go
Of all the things You've said
I'm holding on 'cause You promised me that
You'd never leave
You're always by my side
You'll never let me go
So I'm holding on 'cause I know that I need You

A 2 weeks break after a long semester. I know working life would be worse but hey all the studying and stress to perform seriously cracks the clay as well. Can't believe it the semester is over it took like forever and now one more semester to go and that's the end of Advance Diploma. (That's of course if I pass all my papers).

This has probably been one of the most eventful semester. Taking on a different perspective and having different responsibilities. Lots of things happened and lots of changes around. Ah.... Isn't that what life is all about ?? Well, just want to say that though there are parts of it which I dislike and I wish certain things never happen I am glad that it was covered and coated with the Lord's amazing handiwork in my life.

One word to describe the semester EXCITING!

Moments that was cherished and the things that we do as students.

Eating
Studying
Outings
Trying different culture
Dressing a like (same colour I mean)

Always had time for pictures

Even the top student plays

Finally! No more assignments. 2 weeks plus of sleepless nites. Really dislike coming back home and doing assignments. Glad that everything is done. Hopefully no more till next sem. Still have test and finals but I guess exams are easier as I just have to face the book and memorize and practice lots. No need to crack my brains thinking of ideas, solutions and reading loads of books, journals, and anything I can get my hands on. Weird as it seems I actually like doing that despite the busyness. Since Its getting late and I have a long week ahead. Guess I better leave the long stories till next time. =) God bless all of You!

Holidays are over and college has started. Well class for the week not too bad. For now, I am looking forward to the semester. Risk management, Integrated Management, Financial Reporting and Moral & Etika. New system for this semester with a 40% weightage for coursework. This would mean more consistent studying and preparation throughout the semester.

Can't believe it first lecture and we have an assignment thrown at us. Anyway, I have decided to pick YTL Cement as the company I will be doing on. Well, little did I know that this would lead to life lessons. I just can't believe my eyes. Tan Sri Dr Francis Yeoh. I've heard so much about him praying when things doesnt get through but I didn't know that he certainly walks the talk.

Gosh! This really puts me to shame. Was doing some research and happen to stumble upon the press release for YTL and almost every single article is about giving credit to God. Every single good thing, he gives praise and thanksgiving to God. Not to mention he threw a thanksgiving bash. Yeah! I know that every good thing comes from HIM and I do give thanks (in private) but this is really what is all about. So much of me and being ashamed (thinking people will think I am weird). This is a big tycoon in the business world praising HIM in everything that he does. Really something that I have to start putting into practice for HE certainly deserve all the glory and honor.

Quick note on college. Its great being back. Toilets in the hostel has to be repaired though. Apart from that its time for my stomach to get use to the TARCBACTERIA (my mum named it). Hopefully not like last year after my break which took me nearly a month to get used 2.
heart4God

Holidays are soon over. Final week. Quite sad that I don't have the car to enjoy my holidays to the fullest. However, grateful that is the final week and not earlier. My list of things that I was looking forward too is nearly completed. Down to the last 2. Have to finish whatever unfinished things I have before sem starts. Wish holidays were longer. Its time to start unpacking my boxes back to the place I will call home for the next half a year. Anyway, Worship Central here I come.
