I am quite proud of myself. Last weekend I completed 10.5km and a much better timing compared to Shape Night Run. Of course it was rather disappointing because I spent more time breeze walking than actually running. (Not like Mizuono Wave Run in 2009). The track wasn't too bad but I couldn't take the dust and the many times we have to stop for cars, lorries and buses to cross. Imagine! In the middle of the run stopping for vehicles to cross. But well, I think I will give KL runs a skip next time. Too much construction and too many vehicles for my liking.
Can you believe it the tag line for Siemens Run 2011 is What are you running for. A catching one indeed. My colleague and I was just asking each other about what's the purpose of us running. Not going to hide but its for the goodie bag and the sense of satisfaction that I have conquer the track! However, ever since Runnat 2009, every time I run I am reminded to pray. So despite the hazardous fumes, it really was a fruitful pray run. Where else can be more strategic than KL and Putrajaya.
Managed to compete at 1 hour 25 mins. I am going to try to make it 1 hour 10mins the next time round! Its time to take out the running shoes and head to the gym!

Oh and guess how I rewarded myself? A week of no gym and lots of food. :) Well, the skin at the back of my lower part of the leg was peeled off thanks to my short socks. It hurts when my shoe hits again it but should be fine by this Monday and gym here I come.
Talking about food. It was like a food marathon this week. Seriously!!! Wednesday I had lunch with Bobby and ate Nasi Briyani with Chicken + Potato mixed chicken deep fried. Then we had department Birthday celebration and had secret recipe cake. My big boss treat us to Coffee bean drinks and had a regular Sunrise. Gosh was it so filling.
The very next day we had farewell lunch at El-Shaddai Fellowship (the bank's fellowship) for one of our colleague's who is retiring. Ate so much as well as the food was really good. I had dinner with Adris at a Steamboat buffet restaurant and again it was like throwing loads of food down.

By the time we reach there it was dark. No more prawns and crabs :(
That's not the end. Another buffet was awaiting on Friday. Department buffet lunch at Latest Recipe Le Meridien KL Sentral. By this time I was so stuffed up. Can't eat like I used to. Deserts were great but the rest of the food were just passing images as I just couldn't eat anymore. Avoided the Carbohyrdates and concentrated on the dishes instead. Fattening nevertheless. Its about RM100+ per person for the buffet and if you are one who loves food. Should probably go try it out.

Glad the eating spree is over. With the new Gym schedule out. Hopefully, I will have more time to work out the pounds I have gained. The sluggish feeling has set in and it means I have not exercise enough.
On another note, did my first mock exam today. It didn't go too well. Hopefully the real T4 exam won't be like this. I am really hoping I'll pass. A simple pass will do. CIMA examiners have mercy.

It has been quite a lot of meeting up over the past 2 weeks. I really appreciate such moments and wish that sometimes I can just extend those moments and spend more time with people. Its nice to see someone after not seeing them for quite sometime as it shows how they have grown (if they have) and believe it or not it also reflects on how you have grown as the conversation progress best of all it brings you back to memory lane.
Met up with by darlings on 11 Septembers. The bunch of crazy gals from convent. Seriously! It was like moving back in time. Strangely, didn't behave as if I was 20+ but it felt like we were back in school sitting at the school canteen and exchanging crazy stories. Of course we were in a more posh place compared to our school canteen but its always good to see old friends. Haven't see Wei Jean, Suet Mun, and Shiou Meng like probably since I left school and also it has been quite a while since I last met Fuk Fui, Edwina and Terri. Glad we can still meet up on occasions. It was Terri's Birthday!

I met up with Kenny just before Malaysia Day and it was indeed a blessed time together. Was not in a mood to work that day and hence dinner it was. A refreshing change compared to work.
Public Holiday's are days I look forward to. Simple because its rest day (or at least from the KTM). In my house, its usually the days to do cleaning as every other weekend is jam pack with activities and before you know its back to the routine again..... Anyway, this Malaysia Day we had lunch in Broga. Its been months since my family and I had lunch there. Can't believe it met friends from The Plan11 conference at the makan place. The minute we reach home, call that 4th aunt and her grandkids are coming. A good family meet up too but was totally exhausted due to the many activities all in a day. Earlier in the morning and gym and rush to house cleaning after that.....
Going to miss the daily parades and formation at the Dataran Merdeka each morning. I get first class view everyday minus the hot sun. That's the privilege of having your office face the Dataran. All the action happenings that takes place are within bird's eye view.

I met Alvin at Siemens run when we were up some hill. Too bad couldn't keep at his pace. Too fast for me.
Bevon Burke is back in Malaysia. It was really nice to see him after months and months. Didn't change a bit!

Ate lunch with Bobby Singh... ( interesting how it injured his hand) last Wednesday. Sherah (my colleague) came back from medical and maternity leave. Good to see her back!
Last but not least ate dinner with Adris (my NC group leader) at some steamboat buffet.
Yeaps lots of meeting people up. Really nice to have meet ups. I wish I have all the time and money in the world to meet up with people. Refreshing to see what God is doing in their lives :)

Recapping moments from the last weekend in July to the first weekend in September

30 July 2011 : - Shape Night Run - 2011 (Putrajaya) We finish the race =) Fired up for the Siemens Run end of September.

6 August 2011 :- The World Vision 30 Hour famine (less than 6 hours). Moving out of the 'katak di-bawah tempurung' mentality.
13 August 2011: - MATTA Fair. See the world all in one venue. Rich in culture and beauty.

2nd all gals match for 2011 : - We lost to Contact but win many new found friends and a great game! (I knew all the while it was the blue colour that made a lose. Back in school red house always wins!)

Did a long and good stretch. Now its time to stretch my vision, my heart and my capacity for His Glory.

Roomates from 368. I can't hear you coz I am asleep. I can't see you because you are hidden under the blanket and can't speak someone's sleeping.

4 September 2011 : - ICC my now spiritual family in Serdang 1st Anniversary.
My companions at the anniversary. Bright, roving Z Generation leaders.

At first, dreams seem impossible, then improbable, and eventually inevitable.
Its really funny to see how people fight to get a place to squeeze in the train to work and on their way home. Its a daily routine. It really get on my nerves not at the people's behaviour but the lack of planning in the city. I can only understand why this people are so frustrated. Imagine, I have only been working for about 7 months and I dread taking the train what more this people who has been using the train services for many years. Plus I am sure that the conditions a few years back was not like what we have today it would have been worse off. With the frequent breakdowns and pressure for work is amazing that one still survives and their sanity in tact.
My morning train rides (an hour when everything comes on time) have been time that I let my imagination run a little wild. Sometimes, when you feel like "This is enough, no more, I am going to quit" a new idea births. How long I will survive in the commercial line only God can tell. I have my eyes set on studying once again and doing something on my own. Its true sometimes you wonder whether the work that you do the whole day (literally 11-12 hours a day) is something that makes a difference. Something that counts. Something that makes an impact to society's welfare. For me at times, I really wonder whether all these paper work is necessary! Have human beings make life even more complicated than it should be?
Day in and out I just look at the faces of the hundreds of people rushing to work. Whether caught in the jam for hours or whether being stucked in the train. Then comes the office workload. Sometimes things may get out of hand especially when you have more than you can chew at one time and things just seem so overwhelming. Then on the way home you go through the same routine once again and the next day the whole new routine is reset once again. When weekend approach you try to make the most of so called lost time during the week and you try to catch up on house chores, things you have wanted to do, hobbies you want to pursue and etc. Seriously, this for the next 30 over years? Is a no wonder people become lost when the retired. 30 years of packed routine and suddenly all the free time in the world.
Well, shall not go on any further. But do give it a thought. Through this it really dawn upon me that you really need to do something that you like to do, something that you are willing to wake up every morning for, something that even the train or the traffic jams cant stop you. Money is important but far beyond that satisfaction and being fulfilled in life really matters.
Then again, if you have failed once don't give up. Pick up and keep running. As I said in my last post, sometimes we end up doing things we do not ask for. It somehow ends up on our plate and we have to swallow every bit of it. (could be because of family, money, or the economy) Don't lose hope as a new day awaits each day for something better. A change perhaps.
Unrelated to the above
I met up with Anita, a friend I met when I was backpacking in Europe (really want to go backpacking again!). She's an Australian but now living in the UK but has an Italian passport. Well, it was nice to have her down in KL. Only managed to squeeze a quick lunch with her but well then again better than nothing.
Last week met up with another friend who's Nigerian and now studying in the UK. How weird sometimes how people end up in different parts of the country. Anyway, also another quick time with her.
Manage to meet up with a few of my school mates. Edwina, Fuk Fui and Rachael last weekend as well. Only manage a 2 hour plus meet up and it was time to head home. Seeing another friend on Friday just to pass something was also that I can squeeze in.
Time has become so so short. Nothing gets done. I guess, I should stop volunteering for stuff till time becomes something that I have. I really do feel bad when I choose to take up something but unable to go all out due to circumstances because I usually choose to do something that I really want to do and not being able to see it come to pass is disappointing.
Nevertheless, I appreciate meeting people up especially in small groups where we can just catch up with each other. It brings a sense of familiar ground. Do miss school and college times. Working life is cool but nothing can be better that being in a whole area of people your age, people who are like minded and the freedom of moving around.
Speaking of which, I am totally out of shape and the shape night run is around the corner. Hopefully I don't collapse and need paramedic assistance. Time to get the running shoes out.

Its been one of the must do's I have put into my list. Trying to ensure that I take the effort to stay in touch with friends. With the limited time and busyness I am glad I did manage to meet up with at least 3 different group of friends. Of course I still haven't had the chance to play floorball since I came back from UK (meaning nearly a year since I last played floorball :( really disappointing)
My good friend Levina is now in Edinburgh. (Totally not fair since she is enjoying herself soaking in all the nice scenery and having lots of free time while I have to slog away :p ... Gal if you are reading this :P Do have fun!). Joining her is Yi Huang (Groupmate from college), Wai Yi (senior) and my tax lecturer Ms.Yeo. Was a simple farewell lunch and because of my "smartness" (left my purse at home and drove all the way down without money or license) she ended up spending on me instead. Was suppose to meet up with her for so so long but it was not until the day she was suppose to leave that we eventually met up.
Another was with long lost college friend Jordan. Now that he is in Australia, we the Malaysians might just have an opening window of crossing over to the place where there is work life balance. :P Well, anyway it was a good meet up. Its been quite some time since I actually went bowling and we played two games (My hand ache for 1 week plus!!!!!)
Had CG Chinese New Year Makan. Well thats about it. I wanted to have dinner and further meet ups with some other friends but time does not permit. Hopefully I will have a much better February.
Looking forward to the 3 days break next week. :) Is packed with activity but well I guess much better than work ;)

First time we had fish for dinner at home. Butter Onion Fish
Going to church is a happy occassion which explain the broad smiles.
Lots of food to 'ta pao'
One of the most amazing guys I have known in UK. Certainly he is one that goes by action speaks louder than words. A man of few words but big actions!
While the others were debating we took the time to take pictures =) Discussion was too heated for us to join in anyway.
The two Malaysian gals - Mary and Yu Ling in the midst of the discussion
Others had a much tamer discussion
Nicole. The gal with BIG LOVELY SMILES and she brought chocolates that she got from her colleagues and shared it with us. How sweet :)
Great Chocolates!
Before they were all done into our stomachs (Can you believe it the amount of Chocolates in the box exactly the number of those who were there. So....=) )
First time we had FRIED Rice usually normal rice or 'yao fan' ><
He wants to make funny faces. Loves spiderman and surprisingly he actually likes reading.
He hardly spoke when I first came only make sounds which I could hardly comprehend. Either he has improve tremendously or I have learned to understand what he is saying.
Ben Ben and Jo Jo (Just the two of them can keep you occupied) They are really quite smart. Brilliant kids! Going to so miss the children here =)
The group that was there at the Farewell Party
The TARC Farewell Party in Church a few weeks back
Yup and the apples are sweet alright =) No preservatives!
4 Apples for the me and my housemates (So sweet of Annie)

Now that I am done with all my assignments and phase test is down to finals. Another 2 more weeks and I will be in Paris on one of the Biggest and Craziest thing I have ever done. The feeling : No feelings just yet a bit worried though but anyways who wouldn't?
Its been 2 weeks of going all out at the gym. Made some good friends at Salasacise. (Its a bit body jam + Athletic Aerobics) After a month plus of not going to go to the gym its now or never. Right now I am in the mood of doing everything I came here for. THE EXPERIENCE!
Could not get anyone to come along with me on the Park Run thats why I never even go but well guess what I told myself I will have to do it today and YES I DID! =) I met a really good auntie she invited me to her place for tea but I don't take tea so well visited her house and her garden. Got fresh green apples right from her garden. First time seeing apple trees. =) She has wild apples too. Didn't try them though since they were not ripe. She gave me raspberries and also blackberries out from her garden. So guess waking up today and dragging my butt to an hours walk was well worth it. She took me sight seeing to the charity shops and told me about steel.
About the run well I am really out of shape. A 35minits for 5km is far behind everyone else there. :( I was only in my first round and so many of them was in their second round. Amazing they finish in 18minits. Half my time. Don't think I will be running in cold weather again. Have to catch my breathe and its difficult when its cold but an experience.
Going to really miss the gym though. Reason number 1 of going to the gym : Meet cute guys =) Oh yes you do! ><>

Spinning Instructor (He is old but super fit!)

Body Blitz and Spinning Instructor (Weirdest Instructor but in a good way I suppose)
Sad to say I couldn't get the pictures of all of them. Hopefully I will over the week. Its sad that they only introduce the new gym prices now and not when I first came, is much cheaper now 9GBP cheaper.
Anyways, will be a little less involve in the gym next week since they are doing some AV renovation but will still make the best use of it. Class resumes as normal next week (Final week of classes than finals) and will be making use of my last two free theaters shows. Have yet to decide on which.
Oh and would like to say a big THANK YOU to my beloved sister who stayed and listen to me complain and to be there for me even till the wee hours of the morning. =) How would I ever live without you. :P

I am suppose to be starting on my reflective writing but I can't seem to be able to do it. Whats makes it different from wrting a blog? Is it because its not a blog? There are two things in this, one, I can be very descriptive and long winded and that is something definitely a no no for reflective wrting and two, totally not talking on things that related at all.
Argh.... why can't my little brain work when it needs to?
Well, I do hope to be able to finish that as soon as possible and enjoy a few days before finals.
I have been pretty crazy lately. I went for 3 gym classes yesterday went for Pilates which I felt so odd doing everything because I was the only one who doesn't know anything. Salsacise was quite fun. I think I must really consider taking a dance class =) (Hold that laughter of yours!) Its something I enjoy and well since I was at the class without anyone I know, I had a time of my life doing things which I know it won't come back and haunt me in the future. Would most likely go for the remaining classes while I am still here in UK, if only I taken enough courage to take it up much earlier I would probably be a master of it when I return home.
and yups still pretty much in the sweating it all out (probably due to stress and the busyness - best way of getting your mind off everything) that I decided to go for two cardio and strengthening class today. Usually I only go for one because by the end of the class I can hardly feel my limbs but well sometimes you just do crazy stuff. =)
I can't wait for tomorrow to end. The end of group work in UK =) [quite(VERY) dislike it] Glad that by the end of next week all the assignments will all be over and I only need to concentrate on two more papers for finals and its sightseeing time!
heart4God
Its really hard when you don't understand the people you are presenting your stuff too. I always feel understanding your audience would make presentation a lot simpler because you know what would please them with little effort. Since PASBD we don't really mix with your lecturers I can't really figure them out especially since we have a different lecture and presenting to another group of lecturers. To me I enjoy the challenge and I find it really satisfying if I can present in a way that suits the person listening.
Well first attempt failed. However, I feel that the friendship built along this presentation was sweet. We walked from Charlotte Court to Bramall Court for the last week every night to fetch Mei Yee home but it was nice enjoyed the weather and the little chatter we shared.
Our very first presentation 3 weeks ago
Preparing for our first assessed presentation in Michael's room. He provided cheesecake too.
Night walks to Bramall Court
Smile before we got trashed today
Last night however, we did a farewell for Beth which we were shocked she was only 18 (certainly doesn't look her age). It was a nice little farewell where Maple and I stayed on and got to know Beth a little more. We have been house mates for 1 Month =)
Guest of honor - Beth
Bits and pieces
became .....
Butter head stewed vege
Eggplant Sambal with Dried Shrimps
Fried Sausage Rice Chinese Sytle
Tomyam Meehoon
Masala Egg
See Mei's 'tong yuin'. Its not fish balls!
We had fruit punch with peaches and pineapples with Orange juice and lemonade to wash it all down. Well we wanted to give Beth a taste of Malaysia. Gave her a Malaysia postcard that captures the view of KL night life! =)
And memories
=)
Group photo as usual
Shoulders a little sore from Body Blitz. Hopefully I won't be incredible hulk when I return home with the amount of weights I am carrying not much but certainly more than what I have been doing back at Malaysia. I don't have a choice because I am already doing the minimum while the rest of the people here are carrying heavier weights. Man, its terrible! I am like the shortest too. But thanks to Body Step and Body Pump back home I am able to at least keep up in class. Joining the Spin classes too, hopefully I will be able to keep up with the momentum. Its sad though that they don't have Power Balance or Body Steps here! Would love it!! =)
Tonight we will be celebrating Lyn's birthday party. Guess the whole AMA will be gathering at Flat 23. I will show you pictures (if I can) later.
Stopping here to spend a little time with my books before preparing a dish for Lyn's party.
