Woke up this morning after sending mum and my lil bro off, I picked up the newspaper. One article caught my attention. Title goes Next best thing. In this article the writer says to stop looking for Mr.Right and marry Mr.Good Enough. "Lori Gottlieb argues that women should be realistic and understand that marriage is not a "passion-fest" but instead a "partnership formed to run a very small, mundane and often boring non-profit business."

If you know me well I guess you would have known I was ready to argue with the writer. Mentally already disagreeing and trying to find out who's the writer. Such silly exclamations made. Thankfully the article next to it titled Stick to the quest. I think Ms.Beck Pugh the writer has much better sense.

She says "not to believe that is to resign oneself to lifelong mediocrity and to the notion that it is all you deserve. We don't accept mediocrity from our government; we don't accept mediocrity in our careers; and we don't accept mediocrity in our friendships. Why should we accept it in marriage? I sure didn't when I said "I do" almost two years ago. " She concluded the article with "marriage shouldn't be about bagging the type of man you always thought you'd end up with. Neither should it be based on a checklist of credentials. I should be born of a good, old-fashioned feeling, which tells you both that you simply can't be without each other."

I think if marriage is like what Lori says then its like standing in the middle of the road knowing you are going to be hit by a lorry. Why would you want to do that then? Better stay single then end up with the wrong person for the rest of your life.

Just found the article interesting and thought of sharing. If you want to read it for yourself its in Today's StarTwo page 8.

Its been a week now that college has ended. Finally when for my follow up appointment with the chiropractor. Sighz.. wish I had money then I can go often. The Dr's there are hot hunks. Sorry back to the topic. Well, my injury is getting better. Had a 45min coccyx massage. The Dr. say it will take a month more before I am back to normal. (Waiting for that day) I spent 2 hours plus at the specialist centre.
The past one week has been good. Being home and also just letting everything settle in was good. Just find that staying at home refreshes the soul. Yeah there's lots of housework and also little bro's to bug around but yeah there is nothing like home sweet home.
Ok! So what is the puzzling title all about?
I just find so many funny things happening. Quite weird how things on the last phase of the final semester can really be quite different. 6 of my good friends are together. How they got together and finally reaching the stage where they are official adds to the memories of being a youth.
Really funny how things are like finding for that little golden pin in the pile of hay. Just want to congratulate the couples. CONGRATULATIONS! Do cherish one another and take good care of the girls..... (My very good sister, My mummy and My daughter) Glad and happy for you all.
One more added memory for them in CF. They found their life partners. =)
What's up ahead you'll never know but what you have right now is what you can hold.
Guess I shall stop talking about them just couldn't help myself from sharing their joy.
Few more weeks to Chinese New Year. Exams results will be out in 11 days. Revision classes on its way.
For the next few weeks I am going to really enjoy home and also keep my heart rate up. Woohoo!!!

Going to miss my buddies so much. The recent AMA BBQ party in Villa Angsana brought us back together. After all the studying we had fun together. Glad we had so many willing ones to help us BBQ the food. =)
You know I have known Joelle for four years now. Amazing she was one of the first few people I met when I first entered TARC and then we ended up being placed in the same class together. We were groupmates up till my final year in TARC. Just love and enjoyed the chitty chatter we can have.
Shwu Lyn was the first gal I met first met in Advance Diploma. Looks quiet but she can be really wild as well. Awesome gal from Penang. Glad that we got to know each other and really she is one that loves arts just like jolly but end up in Accounting. The Duo's are a bomb!
Pei Chin is our dear mummy. She is one blur but yet very hilarious gal. Just love how she manages to get our notes and also keep us updated. She is one hardworking gal that attends every single class. Even when she is sick. Madness though.
Levina one I got to know better towards the end of first year in Advance. Became my team mate and work mate in most of the assignments. Great gal but special in the way she thinks and does things. Likes to play chipsmore.
The gal who is always in the group but yet not there. Haahaa! The gal is none other than Jane. Soo Qi I mean. She skips class but well she does not need class. She is one hardworking gal that will study on her own. The ones who is most loved by the lecturers.
Our course rep is Xiao Min. The apple of Mr.Clement's eye. He seems to pronounce her name with a very unique way. She really goes all out for the course. Doing her utmost best for our course.
Got to know Jessmyn much better in the past one year. A great gal. Very very sweet. I heard she is an awesome cook but have yet to try her good food. She is one who really takes care of other people's feelings and needs. Sensitive to others.
Maple Mah has a very cute voice when she has a sore throat. She is one cute gal. Have been groupmates with her. My group leader that takes our notes and also segregates the questions. She comes from the land of Ipoh just like Jessmyn.
Mages and Man Yan have been in the same group for 80% of the group assignments. The both of them really knows how to lighten things up. Mind you they both work out at the gym. They are probably the oldest in class too.

Don't ask me how come I suddenly think of writing this. Not too sure myself.
(From the left :Mages, Man Yan, Levina, Maple, Jessmyn, Pei Chin, Soo Qi, Xiao Min, Joelle and Shwu Lyn)

(The early days : Yinxie, Jing Yi and Jollle)

(The one who has been with me for 4 whole years)

Finishing the last paper today brought mixed emotions. Partly relieved and excitement to what's up ahead. Could hardly concentrate in the papers as my thoughts keep flying away. :) Ahh.... one step closer to reaching the goal.

Glad to finally be home. Miss home so so much especially the people in it. At last....back to body step. Hehe! It has been ages. Amazing I managed to follow the whole class. I thought I was not going to make it. Seriously ever since the exams begin and me having the silly injury exercise has been rare. This will be my first agenda and the first thing I wanna do this hols. To get my stamina back :)

Anyway as the title above mention, the years in TARC has really been a wonderful journey. Not going to say much about CF already and also the rest as I have mention it in the earlier post. Its still too early to write about it. Just hours since I left college.

Finals is one stressful event. My family has been ever encouraging probably the only ones that doesn't put stress on me. They even came all the way down for dinner with me. Kept me going...
Spend the whole week eating with friends and it was great as they really take away your stress. Love the farewell hostel makan or so-called lar. All old gals... [Eunice, Michelle, Kar Mun, Jia Wen, Levina and also Jia Wen's friend. The guys came along to Song Sing, Edwin and Wei Zhen]

Last night was just unbelievable. Talk about not having guys in you room and I was just bragging about it to Jia Wen and in less than 2 hours I have 5 guys and 2 gals standing outside my room and singing "Happy Birthday". Madness I would say. Best part is its not even my birthday but they got the age right. Hehe! Well, they (Stef, Andrea, Kah Hong, Glenn, XP, Errol and Larry) were even so proud of asking the guard for permission to my room but of course they failed.

They the Pre-U actually gave me a farewell cake and card and turned my room upside down. Just give them 5 min and a storm would have taken place. =) Anyways, I was busy trying to study Risk and Control Strategy so I wonder how can we mitigate such risk?

Haahaa!!! Not going to think about it because I am thankful and grateful for knowing them and also having them that I could not bring myself to scream at them for the noise they were making in the room not to mention the mess. Haahaa!!! Eunice was there too but she was kinda lost. Just love that gal.

Going to miss them - the sakai prayer group-.I am also going to miss all the times in TARC. The CF geng. (Just too many to name, you know who you are) and also my buddies from the AMA class. Ahh..... a sigh of relief and yet mix with the feelings of leaving a part of myself back in TARC. Guess that is what moving on and growing on is about right? Only when we separate that more growth can occur. Like the ameba.

Going to make the best out of the next few months. Lots on the list line up. Trying to keep it as free as possible to do what I really wanna do. =)

I have finally finished reading a book. I started reading it at the beginning of the semester. Reading 3 books at a time. One in hostel, the other one for journey purposes and another one at home. I finished the one in hostel.

I felt that I should write a little on what I have read and share it here. I found the book very encouraging and it really has caused me to reflex on things. Indeed many of us walk around like a box with large red and black letters which says DANGER DYNAMITE! However, only has common paraphernalia stored within. We are created to store spiritual dynamite but somehow or another, the dynamite is wet or really isn’t even there.

Anyway, I picked up a few things to highlight which caught my attention while reading. I summarized them in my words. =)

Well, really so how does someone who’s spiritually passionate life look like? In 1 Chronicles 11 David in the midst of running away from the Philistines David spoke out with some nostalgia “Oh that someone would give me water to drink from the well of Bethlehem. Clearly not a command but a mere wish. That wish though was enough to sent David’s three might men determined to deliver water as a gift from the Bethlehem well as soon as possible even though this means battling through the war to get it. That is called devotion and passion.

However, they could never heard have heard the wish if they were not in the presence of David to hear it. To be in the presence of the Commander is to be in a safe place and to hear his wishes demands a still time when listening is the most important thing. That’s intimacy, and it generates passion, a desire to hear and to please. No hearing, no intimacy, no passion.

Everyone can hear God giving a command unless he chooses not to but it takes a sensitive ear to hear the wishes of God, and that only comes in safe places at still times. When Adam and Eve failed at the Garden of Eden passion was lost. The Christian story is that of restoration. Restoration of intimacy with God and of the passion which comes from renewing our choice to respond to His wishes.

I believe that we sometimes over-complicate our God and His ways of coming to us. Thanks to our intelligence and much learned knowledge we think we can organized Him, strategized Him and compartmentalized Him. We have reduced His ways of working with us to cute little formulas. But it is clear that God longs to renew a spiritual passion within us.

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord Blessed be Your name

In the past nearly one month it has been a pretty weird week I would say. Can’t remember what was the first blow but first the fall cause by playing floorball in the rain. Thought it was just some minor thing. However, it’s still painful till now. The chiropractor said it could either be a fracture or a torn ligament. Will only be able to find out this Saturday. If you are wondering what injury it is, is coccyx injury. I am pretty much fine on the outside have more or less gotten use to the pain as well.

Then my laptop suddenly stops functioning. It is up and running now. My camera SD card seems to be giving problem. Not sure what is the matter. My new phone given by my Dad has been sent to the hospital and it’s been less than a month with me. Haven’t gotten it back yet.

The worst is losing my bankdraft for UK and CIMA worth 2 months’ salary (with the pay firms are willing to pay me now). I found it back already. (I have lost if for more than a week. Just couldn’t find it even though the whole house [my family not the house] searched for it. Over the week when I was in college I was reassured that I will be able to find it and was quite confident of finding it when I reached home on Friday. After a whole day of searching for it, I was thinking of what will happen if I don’t find it. However, the assurance I had over the week keep coming to mind and I was still very hopeful. Saturday was another search day. House is not that big so I searched the same places many more times but still could not find it. Sunday in church I felt as though the Lord reminded me again that He is God and that I need only to trust continued the search after coming back from church but still no sign of it. I just couldn’t understand how come I couldn’t find it. Sighz… Anyway just before going to make the police report I felt that there is just one place that I need to go search it again. Tell you that same place my sis and myself searched it countless times and there it was. I just couldn’t believe my eyes)

I am not here to complain about the funny things happening. Lots more actually but I think I shall not go on and on about it. However, today I am reminded that everything belongs to God and that He gives everything I have now so it’s His right to do whatever He pleases. He can give and He can take away. Nevertheless, I believe that when He takes away He will bless back more than you can imagine.

Which brings me to the recent incident of church bombings; I am quite sad that such a small issue can be blown into such proportion. However, this has really brought the church together. It’s funny sometimes but its only when hardship comes by that people really appreciates what they have and also they will rely more on God. This has also brought back the passion in our churches today to continue to pray even more for our nation and the people. Amazing isn’t it? The best part is all the other attempts to bomb the other churches failed and the church that got bombed was a blessing in disguise. Now they can move to the premise which they wanted to and also they will have the extra financial aid given. I say that God is indeed GREAT! He is a faithful God!

Its 2010. What's up ahead? I wonder what my last words for 2010 will be like... Anywayz shall not think ahead.

Lately, I can't seem to be able to focus. Its as though before I could finish something my mind is on another. The act of just enjoying one thing at a time seem so hard to do. I don't know what I am rushing for. Maybe its because I have been rushing like mad for the past semester that slowing down seems weird.

Everyone is talking about New Year resolutions. I am not going to do one for the year. Hehe!~ or maybe I should that is to enjoy 2010 as it is.

Well, my days in TARC are numbered. For the next few weeks it will be trying to cramp 14 weeks worth of notes in. I pray for discipline and alertness. Hopefully I will be able to absorb all in and understand it all. God help me.

Happy 2010 everyone! May it be a year full of growth and experience. =)
