Just came back from Whitby Town. So far I have been to Cambridge and Whitby. I don't know how my friends manage it by doing their assignments, studying, other activities and also have a large amount of time sightseeing UK and also shopping non-stop. At the rate I am going I am hardly able to even study.
Sometimes I wish that the tour agents are not allowed to promote their tours because first and foremost they flood our mails. They also put the tours every weekend and even during our class time and encouraging people to skip class. Makes it all the more tempting and harder to say no.
Its beginning to be a holiday for most instead of studying I wonder how we are going to perform in our heavy loads of assignments when most parts of my brains are filled with places and attractions. I haven't even been shopping.....
I don't want to leave UK without seeing UK and I also don't want to go home with average results after paying so much money to come over here for the degree. What a struggle..... Maybe a good option is to have a lighter module assessment and also more tours after our semester instead of during the semester. But then again most of my friends would probably say its me only that is feeling it.
Well, I have been out every weekend since coming over. Below is a quick summary of my mind relaxation activities.
Summer School Beach Party (25th June)
Didn't really like the environment in the Beach Party so decided to see Sheffield first time in the night. Pleasantly rewarded =)
Love the view. This is taken at Sheffield's Peace Garden. Behind is the City Hall.
Our supposed beach wear. Didn't bring clothes for it so make do....
Tour to Cambridge (26th June)
One of the colleges in Cambridge
Picnic at Jesus Pieces Garden =) I wonder why it was name that though...
A library in Cambridge. The town is filled with museums, libraries, colleges, churches, gardens. Really a University town
Artificial Intelligence vs Real Intelligence =p
The famous punts in Cambridge
Couldn't enter to the College because they were having graduation so well this will have to make up for Issac Newton's discovery tree (Gravity)
City Farm Heeley (27th June)
So big and fat
Look at the lamb. So cute =)
After church found a little park behind the church and it has a superb view of Sheffield town. Can you see the huge mosque?
Most of the pathways are like this. Lots of greenery.
A scene without me =)
This however are random. A little break from the trips.
Yoghurt + Frosties + Chocolate Chip Cookies + Mars Chocolate. Rich and yummy. (Fattening too)
One of the dinners I cooked up. Cheese Pasta and Chinese Style Pasta
Whitby (3rd July)
The scenic view along the way. Just field after fields
The fields filled with red flowers. Can't see them closer because this was taken when we were in the bus.
This is just slightly before we reached Whitby. Very steep road heading to Whitby but the view is just captivating! (Mum there are lots of hills and jungles and streams. You will love the view)
And Whitby here we come =)
Because we were caught in a traffic jam (Our first encounter in UK) we reached Whitby at 12noon so everyone was starving and rushed to the famous fish and chip shops. Outside Magpie and Mister Chips the two fish and chips stores that was recommended were packed with Summer School Students. It was really like an Asian Exodus to Whitby with so many buses and human beings. (Should have taken a picture of the number of people waiting to board the bus)
Anyway above is the picture of the TARC students outside Mister Chips
Sorry Britain but the fish and chips really isn't that good. We didn't really fancy it.
Now this is a beauty. Whitby Abbey. 4.9 pounds to visit and we did enter!!
Different angle of the Abbey
Outside the Abbey. Looks like the Shepherd door post.
I met De Nise!!!! I have been trying to meet up with her since I touched UK! Haven't seen her for more than half a year and fancy seeing her near Mister Chips :)
Mister Chips Fish and Chips costs 5.4pounds which is RM27 thought that it would be worth it because its supposed to be the best fish and chips in England. Malaysians, I suggest a trip to TGIF would be more worth it
Mun Ngar and Kah Seng. Photo partners in the Abbey and for Whitby Trip
In St.Mary's Church Whitby
I just love this passage and I found it in the church. Lord teach me to pray this prayer!
The Lighthouse and breakwater
Whitby from St Mary's 199 Steps
The river Esk and the Captain Cook's Ship passing along
Read the above! Arguments Yard =) But this couple were so happy!
Didn't want to get my shoes dirty but wanted to be part of the sand so ... thus the above
Try guessing which one is me =)
The harbour
We were supposed to be housemates
(Mui Yean, Helen, Mun Ngar, May Kin and Kah Seng)
The left over fish and chips that taste much better after I came back and added my touch to it.
All thanks to Energizer Rechargeable Batteries I can enjoy picture sessions.
For the past one week I had to cut down on picture sessions because the 10batteries my dad bought for me have depleted. Decided to invest in the Rechargeable Batteries before the trip to Whitby. Lasted very long. It has not even gone down by one bar after 200 over pictures =)
Ok that's all for now. Time to leave the rest for next time.
enjoy ur study in uk^^
Thanks Shu Cyan :)
