It's been more than a month since I last updated this space. I would say it has been quite a month. I'll need probably another month to let it all sink in and reflect all the events / moments that took place in the month. From meeting up with friends, to traveling to two different countries, one outstation trip to crazies in office and life moments which are significant, it's certainly not how I would have anticipated the events to unfold but nevertheless, I am blessed that in all of "these", God has been the 'more than' in my life. He has been more than enough. He has sustained and strengthened me in the ups and downs.

Warning : This is a long post but I'll be short since I'm still in recovery mode from Jakarta having just landed this morning. ;)

So I was given a week's notice to go down to Jakarta. Quite crazy having to squeeze this trip in since it's already so busy in office. Anyway, this is the only time we can squeeze in as it's International Conference on Financial Crime and Terrorist Financing next week at Shangri-La so will just have to make do with a 3 days 2 nights short trip. Really pack 😣 This trip, I had another colleague from the Project Management Office who came with me and because she needed to come back to KL by 4pm, we settled for Malindo instead of MAS due to the flight timing. I'll choose MAS over Malindo for the following reasons, the food and air flight entertainment.

One funny thing happened during the trip. After all the hospitality given by the team, I agreed to go for drinks after work so that I can return the hospitality. I am so naive to think that drinks after work would refer to tea rather than alcohol. πŸ™„Who would think that a muslim country would drink alcohol. I had sparkling juice instead while the group of all guys had Carlsberg beer. While I did not particularly enjoy the cigarette smoke over drink session, I learned that there are many hiking places in Indonesia.

Boarding from KL to Jakarta on Thursday, 31 Oct 19. Love the view of the sky.

Love the morning buffet spread. This is what you call a hearty breakfastπŸ˜‚ It was quite a bummer that I can't have pork or fried chicken. A buffet that has a pork station which is unheard of in Malaysian Hotels. This fast has been quite a challenging one! I never knew it was harder than fasting meals. I realised how reliant I am to these πŸ₯“πŸ—πŸ₯©πŸ˜πŸ˜’

Stayed at Fairmont Jakarta. I wish I can pocket the money for the accommodation instead. It's a really nice stay. Sad that it was hazy and the schedule was too pack if not a nice swim would have been nice. Nice view facing the golf course and they warm the toilet seats and have super cool toilet functions.

Some of the photos from the trip. Didn't manage to see much of Jakarta except the hotel, the mall in between the office and the hotel and the airport. Was treated with lunch by the Head of Compliance to Indonesian food at Remboelan, then we had Nasi Padang for dinner at Sari Ratu. Next day after a heavy breakfast, the team bought Monami kueh mueh and a huge plate of fruit rojak. I had none since I was just so full from breakfast. Lunch was at Bakmi GM but I could hardly eat still. Then dinner or rather just drinks at De Luca.

Seeing the beautiful photos of Annapura, I wish I could have been on the trip too although a bit scared since it does sounds tough. Well, I'll settled with this map overview, the pictures and videos that came through. 😊

Last Monday to Wednesday. It was a crazy Worship Central conference because I was trying to complete my assignment which was due at 3pm. Missed the first plenary session but I had a good time still. Stressed from work and assignments, my shoulders and back were aching but I felt so much better after worship. I left wanting more worship sessions!

Lunch with the ladies. We all came in red without any prior planning. The restaurant design is quite unique but food wise nothing to shout about. I ordered Chicken 65 and realised how silly a move since I can't have fried chicken. 😭 So I had no meat at all.... 😫

October Birthday boys! Followed of course with scrumptious meals. Tjoe's celebration was in Sg Chua while Dad wanted to have his in Seremban. So Seremban it is! Mannn.... all these food celebration and it appears that the family are fried chicken / pork lovers... 😣 This is becoming quite a vegetarian fast...

It's been so busy in office that I settled for food delivery. Tried dahmakan for the first time and while the taste was okay I don't like my food cold. So blessed that my colleague decided to sweeten my day with cake and other snacks occasionally. Really blessed! Apples which came as a mid week surprise was a sweet surprise. Huge nutritious apples that kept me going. Kept the doctor away alright... hehehe... Hahaha... can I have stone fruits too (nectarine, peaches) ? πŸ˜›

It was a mini family reunion and a trip back to Taiping. A 2 days 1 Night trip to Taiping. It is not an event for celebration but it was a time of reunion with relatives and a siblings get-together road trip at least on the way down since the parents went a day earlier. No KFC fried chicken or wan tan mee char siew or pork in prawn mee..... this is quite a torture..... 😫

Tired a new cafe at Masjid Jamek. Short lunch but it was a good time catching up with former compliance colleagues

Farewell lunch for Daniel (Group Chief Compliance Officer) at Lemon Garden, Shangri-La. More fooood πŸ™ˆ I need to stop all this buffet eating... not helping my waistline / dress size.
So I finally agreed to move from my seat to make way for the new joiners. My new work space, quite secluded.

Shi Ni's wedding! The highlight of the wedding other than the wedding couple as was meeting up with former HSBC colleagues. Christine who gave me the foundation that I needed in this field and now her husband Daniel that I have become great friends with. Love this couple! & Jo Anne who was a great big sister to me throughout my time in HSBC and I would say still is.

Took Levina to try Betel Leaf and Jai Hind (Punjabi food). Both places that I don't mind going.

Mel's engagement dinner with the gang. Sam brought Gabriel who had an interesting conversion story of how he came back to Christ. God is amazing! He seeks us out no matter how far we've gone. Well, we had such a good time that I nearly broke my fast on the very first day of the fast itself. πŸ˜…

5 days work trip to Cambodia. It was so nice that Hou flew in on Wednesday and we spent 2 Days and 2 nights together in Cambodia. He made my trip so much more interesting and pleasant. A good brother sister trip.

A few photos of our food consumption. Bon Appetite!

Family Mart moments. Finally tried Belgian Dark Chocolate. It was goood.
That's about all the updates... Monday awaits with work, conference and sptc assignment. Whatever is up head I have this assurance that I can rest and be secured that my life is in the hands of none other than the maker of this universe.
