In the morning

Today, Lord, I have an unshakable conviction
    A positive resolute assurance that what you have spoken is unalterably true.
    But today, Lord, my sick body feels stronger
    And the stomping pain quietly subsides.

    Tomorrow…
    If I must struggle again with aching exhaustion, with twisting pain…
    Until I am breathless
    Until I am utterly spent
    Until fear eclipses the last vestige of hope

    Then, Lord—
    Then grant me the enabling grace, to believe without feeling, to know without seeing, to clasp Your invisible hand and wait with invincible trust
    For the morning.

The God I know

It's 2017! How fast time passes by. Before you know it another year would have ended.

As I look back at 2016, its one of those years which flew by so fast, so many things happening, and yet at the same time so many things not happening. It's nice to always be able to be in the place where everything seems to be happening, where everything seems to be going on fine but circumstances, moments in life, they are not yours to choose. We can nevertheless choose how our response will be.

2016 started as a year of expectation. With the end of my season with HSBC, I was ready for a new chapter! Excited to see what God would be doing as I kept my eyes focus on Him. My prayer for the year was to be drawn deeper and closer to God. Well the year unfolded and let's just say what I expect wasn't what took place for the year. I ended the year on a low note, dreams and desires not met, looking at the promises which I have written down, kept in my heart which has not come to pass. It would appear to be a year of brokenness, questions, doubt and pain.

But in the midst of all the lows of life, it has also been a year where I've grown in many ways. I learn to take one day at a time. I learn to see the hurt and despair in other people's life. I draw closer to the God who call me His child. I shift my focus on looking out for the gifts that He can gift but to focus on the giver. To learn how to trust and wait for His timing and providence.

So its 2017, a start of a new year and its starting on a low note. A place of unfulfilled dreams and His promises. While, I can't see what lies ahead and what 2017 will hold but this I know that God is with me every moment of the way and that He will do what He has promised. The promises may not come to pass in 2017 but not a single one of His promises will fail, everything He had spoken will come true (Joshua 21:45)

Meanwhile, till those promises come to pass, I will rest in HIM and not grow weary. I will train and equip myself so that when the Chief Commander calls, I am prepared to receive that assignment and would have the skill sets, the character and the experience required.

2017 will be a an exhilarating year for the Joy of the Lord will be my strength!

Genesis 28:15  What’s more, I am with you, and I will protect you wherever you go. One day I will bring you back to this land.  I will not leave you until I have finished giving you everything I have promised you.”
