This new year was great. Spent some time in Fraser's before going back to work on Wednesday. It was good meeting up with the cousins and aunties.
Love reunions. :)

Well tried to do some baking and cooking but I guess I've a long way to go. Some photos from the past week.

One photo about my little bruise feet. One is from the phone that dropped on my feet and another from house chores.

It's back to the routine life from tomorrow onwards. Less makan makan. [I hope]

The chicken floss tasted good but I thought I should keep it in for a little longer. Was busy listening to a video and the next thing I know it was burnt.

Lesson learned. You cannot be too early or too late. God always has the best timing in life. Don't rush Him or dilly dally, you'll have over done " chicken floss. "

With my new job I have more time. I'm actually happy that this change has given me more time to try new things, learn new skills and also spend more time with my family.

I started going for mandarin class in January. 8 times a month. Hopefully, by the end of the year I'll be rather fluent in the language. My main aim is to be able to read the chinese characters. Well having gone for 6 classes thus far, I have to say my progress is quite slow.

In my one month break between jobs, I tried different recipes. Mostly cooking Chinese Restaurant Class food such as dong bo yuk. With the new job giving me more time, I've also tried baking too. My latest experiment was baking bread.

All thanks to my cousin sister. Went over to her house and she served us warm delicious bread which she baked using a bread maker. Decided that I should get one too. Last night, went over to Giant to get their home brand bread maker. It's promotional price was 178.88 but the receipt showed 129 only. A real bargain. Decided to immediately bake a loaf of bread that night itself. Sadly didn't have bread flour so all purpose flour it was.

From dong po yuk to bread, it has been quite an adventure. I have to say though that it was not always a success.

I'm going to bake and cook more. :) guess since I wanted to get a culinary degree when I was younger, I'm fulfilling that part of my dream now. Slowly but surely getting there.
