This blog has been around since 2009... this means I have here more than 10 years worth of stories and this has been the craziest year ever. A year where the world takes a pause, goes into a state of confusion, adjust / adapts and now emerge (or rather will emerge) stronger and different than before. The year that has made many businesses slow down, fold up but have also seen an accelerated growth in other businesses especially in the area of technology / digitalization. Never before have we become so dependent on technology to connect and related to those around us but yes no matter how technology has progressed, it still cannot replace being physically present to meet with your loved ones, to be with your friends, to experience the occasion and etc.

Whatever it is, 2020 showed that the pandemic can try to stop us from coming together. The government may make it difficult but as long as we stick together, we will make it through. And that is a wrap for 2020.

Tjoe's Japanese Birthday Celebration at Taman Desa

Dad's rushed birthday celebration so that everyone will be around to celebrate his birthday before lock down.

The very first time when we both wore something nice for a special meal together. Celebrating God's gift of love.

The fateful day. It was indeed an eventful day but thank God, nothing happened to Hou

The visits to these cheeky crazy little kiddos in a very beautiful place. God has a plan too for this people.

Lunch / Breakfast before my ACAMS exam and our little trip to Gentings.

The wiring took than expected but we spent time together and had a lovely dinner together at Morganfields. Piggy goodness.

When we were allowed to visit the kiddos. Miss spending time with them.

Our little  day trip to Tg Sepat

Kinda describes the giver too. Just that he is not dark chocolate. :P

It is not what you do but who you are with that counts. Of course, I'm sure whipping up something that he can satisfy his tummy after labouring away is something he appreciates.

Meet up with Yoke Yoke!! And just before that we had Village Park Nasi Lemak. Surely wouldn't mind going there again for a meal. It is good! I think there's drugs in it.....

I am very blessed to have someone who thinks about me and takes good care of me. Walking into a grocery store when he is buying stuff for his mum and coming out with a bar of chocolate to say that he is thinking of me and wanting to surprise me. Yups! He is sweet. ;)

Hmm... this came close to 5 years later but hey... he kept his word. Haha.... I have to say, it was yummy! Burger made by the burger boy...Thanks dear.

And we managed to celebrate mum's birthday which happens to be a public holiday at Kuala Selangor. Short trip but I enjoyed myself. I love my family and yes... I love the cheesecake too... It was too good that the calories didn't matter. Oh yes... it went downhill thereafter...

Finally meeting these lovely bunch of ladies after a grueling Greek journey. Maybe that is why we went with an English instead of Greek cuisine. haha... okay lame ... but thankful for the ladies that struggled together... 7 more months..... ahhh... can't wait till it's done and dusted.

Christmas gift giving. Who says we can't give gifts even though we are not in church?

Giving my room a fresh coat of paint. My work + bedroom + activity room. Just needs a kitchen and it can be a studio unit.

The day when I decided to give my dear a taste of what it would feel like if we go backpacking my style. I hope that doesn't scare him. Yummy pork ham... munching in the car after buying them. Our first time at i-City Shah Alam

What did you do at i-City? I went to meet my long lost cousin. Say hello!

Christmas giving Orang Asli style. Let's go with anything that can fit in the car. muahahah...

So how did you celebrate Christmas and also your anniversary? Well, picture says a thousand words.

Esther's birthday celebration

Heart to heart talk with Dr Grace. Something that we have been wanting to do for more than a year. Finally a meet up together. #koreanpancake #myanmarworkers

28 December 2020

When a man loves a woman.. he knows what she likes and what will thrill her. He goes beyond expectations and above all he knows that above all the gifts, letters, activities, nothing is more dear to woman then to know that she is heard, she is loved, she is understood, she is cared for (and boy.. does he know how to make a woman feel like the most blessed woman in the whole wide world) and she is a joy to be with.

He sure knows how to win a lady's heart. Our anniversary do a few days later from the original day. Aquaria KLCC. The walk in KLCC seems so short but it was educational indeed. It was everything but a fishy experience. Pun intended. Wish we brought the tripod and perhaps we need to invest in a better camera as it seems to be our favourite activity together. :p

We suffered body aches which continues on days later but we scaled many walls together! Feel like we have scaled many walls together indeed and many more to come. Harder, easier, what matters is we are on the right track and are there for one another cheering each other on.

Never thought he was into the shine and glitz. I appreciate all that you do dear. Thank you so much for the night of heart to heart talk and watching me crashed in your car while you drove me home thereafter.

And if that is all not enough, you took the time to pen down your love for me.

What can I say but thank you and love you dear. You are indeed a gem. Okay enough mushiness in public space. Looking forward to 2021!

Interesting how it's the small things that wins your heart or destroys them. Little things like a short trip all the way down to a small little town, brings much joy. Doing grocery shopping or just looking at fruits, can be quality time too that binds the hearts closer.

Small actions but big in meaning.

Just a listening ear, just being there, just holding a basket, just a kind word, just a squeeze in the palm, just being present.

These are not 'just', this is little actions that means a world.

Working from home has become somewhat like the new norm. I enjoy the privilege of being able to go for morning walks with the mother and doing evening workouts with the geng. However, I do miss the lunch hangout sessions, meeting with the colleagues, being sent home by my love and yes, the office space.

Been blessed nevertheless to be able to spend time with my family and Dal which has made the 'movement control' bearable.

While there's less restriction now, I can't help but think about the sad state of our nation's politics and economic situation. A far cry indeed from what I anticipated when we celebrated the new government in 2018.

2020 is turning out to be quite a year. A first of many things.

  • Work from home as the new norm
  • Spending more time with the family
  • 1st Valentine celebration
  • Doing daily devotions with my best friend
  • National borders are closed
  • Online Church
  • Online Classes
  • Online CG and meet ups
  • Petrol price goes down but cost of goods goes up
  • 1st time in my career being officially a people manage
I'm sure there's more but let the move of God continue to sweep through the nations.

Dal and I cooked for Mother's Day. We may have gone a little overboard with the spice level. Dal tried cooking dhal and chicken sambal all on his own. Yummy it was!

My first attempt at Cinnamon roll. Was a success!

Special delivery that came early in the morning on 5.6.20 Best Birthday gift of the year =) He's second attempt at cooking! Yummy =)
